BIG PIRATE TOWN!

  • It would be really nice to have a big pirate town on a separate server, thousends of players, were all players who is not in a game can walk around and gear up, find a crew, find new quests or just socialize. Like a huge lobby for the community. This will be the safe zone in the game. A palce to show off and talk to friends and foe.
It would solve the safe zone and the in game community.

    Maby in a future update=)....

  • Or something similar...

  • @kaptenbloood I recommended the same thing. Hopefully they'll consider this.

  • @gamemaster0613 Lets lobby for it then=)!

  • You realise this would just end up like any open room with a large amount of people (fortnite/pubg come to mind) with kids screaming, people spamming racial slurs or noises. I agree with one of the other posts with outposts being no weapon zones. Can buy your clothings/weapons/potions and whatnot, turn in chests and pick up more voyages. THAT would be a smart move, since you can meet up with crews there then, as you stated.

  • @kriegs089 It works just fine in like World of warcraft towns. There is allways options to shut down the chat channel you are in, and ofc no voice chat in a big town, that would be mental=).
The problem with a outpost being a safe zone is that you wont meet up with a lot of other players, i mean who many players will it be on one server, like 20 MAX?

  • @KaptenBloood I just don't see why they would create something new to host a slew of players when they have the model already there and just have to tweak some stuff to make it fair at outposts. And I think the servers are 32-64 players, especially with PC players.

  • @kriegs089 Still more fun to talk to/meet/mingle/showoff/trade with/to hundreds=)? I think the whole game would feel more alive if you can see how many players there actually are in the game.
But sure, as long as there is a place for peacefull interaction.

  • I mean, half the purpose of this game is to "be a pirate legend", it wont happen if you can't show off in a bigger in game "community". The chans that you will ever meet the same player twice is very samll if everyone is on small servers all the time with no conection besides the forums to the rest of the player base.

  • i would really like a 'safe zone'. one with no traders so i cant give my chests in here. A zone where i can go and have some grog with other random Pirates. where its not technically a safe zone. but if you fire on a pirate you become 'wanted' and other pirates may get a bounty for killing you. i would really like to have something to do other than be on the ship all day. its quite exhausting to be sailing constantly. but i dont want to log off. i want to have some grog and talk to other pirates without the fear of my ship being blown to bits by a passing ship.

I want to be able to to find a crew and lobby with them just like you said. maybe a bulletin board i can sign up on. somewhere to show off all my new gear! i have a full admiral outfit. but who is gna see it? people im fighting wont really notice it! all there is in this game is cosmetics. But no way to show them off! i love your idea!

maybe the island has some guards, or a place to park your ship that is inside a cove, safe from passing ships.
maybe i can find some people and join their crew, make a real community.

  • that would be cool but id rather the time it would take to make that server just put into these

  • They should just make one big island that is a safe zone without voyage npc's.

  • You can't have the safe zone on a different server. That's the pubg route. I think what your talking about is a safe island. "A good sized island" where your not allowed to draw weapons. And you can talk to other players and buy things. And once you set sail again. It's every ship for themselves Which I'm all for.

  • I'd love a big pirate town area where people can go to just mess around, with some pvp disabled areas.

Someone above said people yelling racist / offensive c**p would be an issue. It's no different to any other MMO or multiplier game that allows communication. Just need an ignore / block feature.

IF a big part of player progression is to by fancy c**p for your character, the game will need spaces that allow people to show off said c**p, otherwise the incentive is greatly reduced. This is an idea for one such space, and I think it would be cool.

  • I really think a big pirate island is essential to a game like this. It's been great so far but I feel like, as @ZizoJK just said, theres not much else to do besides be on your ship, and the only reason to get off your ship is to pick up / hand in quests.

I think a large pirate island on a different server (much larger) would give players a chance to get a lot more immersed into the world and give them the opportunity to make friends with other players (and showing off and whatnot). Maybe have most wanted posters around for the player with the most pvp kills or something.

The way I imagine the hop from your regular server to the "big island" server would work is to have the big island somewhere in the middle of the map but have it be surrounded by fog or a storm or something. Once in the fog/storm youre taken out of our current server and put into a ,hopefully short, loading screen. Afterwards your character ends up standing on a pier or a dock and you just walk around the island and buy clothes and gear, and customize your ship, and go to the tavern.

I just think its important to add something in the game to do that isnt on the ships.

  • @loosh93 i agree with what you've said! its a super cool idea! the only thing i would change is the island be on the edge of the map, so people dont stumble across it by mistake, or increase my journey time from island to island. especially if it pops me onto a pier!

another question i had was, how do i get back on my ship? how do i leave? where does my ship go?

  • I just think it is imoportant that this "island" or "town" or "fort" or whtever it is, is a place were a lot of players can meet up, not only the few that are on one of the servers that are right now.

  • You could also incorporate a timer on weapon fire, i.e. 5 mins since you were last fired upon or you fired on someone else before you could enter this safe zone. Otherwise people under attack would simply dock there to save their ship if they were losing.
