Not Able To Save Preset In Custom Seas

  • I've been having this issue since yesterday. Any time I try to create a pure fishing tournament style preset, it tells me it failed to save and kicks me back to the preset select screen.

All I'm doing is turning off scoring for anything except fishing, and disabling most PvE enemies (with the exception of a couple of skelly forts, so Battlegills can spawn). I just give it a simple name, like Fishing Tournament, which is okay so it's not a name issue.

If I try to create the session without saving, I get Farfallebeard(?).

Is there something I'm missing here, like certain switches not working, or is it just that preset saving is currently broken?

  • Support ticket.

  • So, thanks to JR the Great on Bluesky, we've managed to narrow this down to an issue with saving too many custom values.

In my case, I was setting everything except fish to 0 silver, and the game doesn't like that! I believe JR was trying to set up a mode around selling only Chests of Legend.

I got around the preset save issue by instead turning off the NPC turn-in except for Hunter's Call and then only changing the value of non-fish items that could be sold to them (such as gems, lures, etc...). This is obviously not ideal if you only want one item to be sold.

So I did manage to save a Fishing Tournament preset.... only to be hit by another issue: only Treasured Fish are scoring Silver, despite the values being correct in the menu. Selling legacy non-treasured fish are scoring 0 silver.

I've submitted a bug report for this.
