Dubloons for Gold complaint

  • I’m writing as a dedicated Day One player of Sea of Thieves who has always appreciated the spirit of adventure your game offers. However, I need to express my deep disappointment with the recent decision to convert doubloons into gold each.

As a player who has spent countless hours earning these doubloons, this conversion feels disproportionately unfair. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to feel valued as a Day One community member when the effort we put in from the very start is being diminished.

In today's world, it is far easier to earn a million gold than it ever was at the beginning of the game. As such, load balancing decisions that overlook when players joined and how they earned their rewards feel dismissive. It’s disheartening to see that no matter how many hours we invest, these efforts might be devalued again in the future.

Unfortunately, this has made it harder and harder to stay engaged with a game that no longer seems to reflect the values of its earliest community. I don’t often raise complaints, but this situation feels wrong. If this is the direction Rare chooses to go, I must say that unless things can be resolved, I don't believe I'll be returning to the game.

I hope you'll reach out to discuss this further, as I do believe that the input of loyal players like myself can help maintain the spirit of Sea of Thieves. Thank you for your time.
