Captaincy Feels Abandoned

Honestly this feels like whining more than anything.

Sea of Thieves isn’t supposed to hand out milestones for everything under the sun. Smuggling, garrisons, treasuring fish, they’re all meant to be little side activities, not full-on captain level grind paths. If you want captaincy milestones everywhere you’re gonna run into a bunch of busywork that barely matters.

Also, Treasured Fish not having trinkets isn’t “the biggest crime” lol. That’s just how Rare designed it. You still get the gold and the rep, and the real reward is the bragging rights. Milestones everywhere isn’t automatically fun, it’s just more stuff to click.

I feel like you’ve inferred some sentiments from my post that weren’t intended. I’m just saying that captaincy feels abandoned because they’ve stopped adding stuff to it.

S14 added a whole suite of milestones with trinkets; as did previous updates. After that it’s been sparse. It’s just weird that that captaincy is falling behind. It’s not like there was much there to begin with or that it would need much to keep its previous pace.

Plus I kind of just want those fish on my wall. They look cool.

Ah, okay I see what you’re saying now, but I still think you’re overstating it a bit.

Captaincy hasn’t exactly been “abandoned.” Rare just hasn’t added new milestones every single season because the rest of the game has been expanding in bigger ways. You’re right that S14 and earlier had a bunch of trinkets, but saying it’s falling behind makes it sound way worse than it is.

And yeah, wanting the fish on your wall is fair, I get that. But making it sound like the whole system’s broken or forgotten isn’t really accurate. It’s more like it’s getting less spotlight while they focus on the bigger updates.
