Since I could find no way to search for my friend to add him to my friendslist, I figured he might find this forum post, click on my name and add me. Hope this works.
Did not work. I cant find a way to add my friend to my friendslist who's on ps5 (Im on PC).
Okay, found the solution. Had to login to the xbox live website, search for his gamertag there, and add him.
