  • I don’t know about anyone else.

Console, idk why I find it better than any pc and never have had the issues many players claim and threaten to quit. :/

  • it could be a myriad of reasons for the bad experience, but other games are running well?

  • Just SoT that does this or other games too?

I can still play this game on my old Xbox is I wanted to so obviously something is wrong somewhere for you.

What platform are you playing on and have you asked Rare Support for any assistance, they might be able to find the core problem through the debug files.

Yes the performance is questionable sometimes, I think island loading borders need to be fixed badly. You can be demasted right on the border and you’ll drop 15 fps every time you pass it. It needs to be gradual

Also if there are multiple galleons on a server your jump will fail and rubberband like 20% of the time.

Stable 120 fps in this game during combat is a far fetched dream

Performance wise, finding out if other games run fine on PC is important. If he only has SoT installed on his PC, then it might be worth installing a couple other games he knows that run well to see how they are running okay right now also.

PCs can have a lot more issues compared to consoles. Hardware issues, windows issues, windows updates, other software installed etc etc. These can all impact games, if he has not tried any other PC games then it's worth doing so, or try running benchmarking tools to rule things out.

I myself don't have many performance issues, sometimes a few lag spikes here and there and actual game bugs, but all in all nothing major on Mystical settings. Though, I do always keep my computer hardware top spec and maintain Windows and format Windows every 3 months and redeploy, know what's running in the background and know how to fix issues due to working in computer shops and doing networking for work.

Being on a forum we can't see what's going on in OPs case, only by what he tells us. Which is brief in regard to performance issues...
