Use safer seas to 1v1 friends

  • I want to be able to invite friends in safer seas and use it as a custom server. This could be used to be on a crew with friends, or on separate ships. This would let us compete, practice, or do normal SoT things.

  • Safer Seas is just an extended tutorial not a private server to use at own convenience. If you want the full SOT experience the High Seas are always there.

  • Turning safer seas into something akin to custom servers would be great. Keep the safer seas caps. Disable alliances, alliance coms and stolen loots coms (probably as few other things also). It would be great to be able to practice pvp against friends. Probably plenty of other advantages also

Yeah but like I’m saying more for fighting friends. I don’t really care about collaborative work

  • While on the surface this sounds like a great idea. The Sea of Thieves player base is dwindling already and if people kept to their private custom servers with their friends this would ruin the high seas experience for everyone.

The point of SoT is to be a pirate that's always scanning the horizon for potential threats while protecting your loot you'll never know what to expect because anything can happen. Sanctioned servers takes away from that organic experience.

Also if you want practice in PvP just do hourglass. That is the best way to earn your PvP stripes against some of the best. Sure there are hackers but after 100 legit matches against some sweatlords trust me you will get better. I know I have.

This is just my opinion though so... Yeah lol

Perhaps a guild owner could host guild-restricted seas. So guild membership can decide who sails in a specific Guild-restricted seas. It should have all the Safer Seas restrictions with the alliance feature disabled.

This way, 1 guild restricted seas server can host multiple safer seas ships. Right now, each safer seas ship uses 1 server. This guild restricted seas might save server resources.
