    @wolfmanbush I have ZERO issue with accountability. I said that he had rod launched……….. Not spamming it, not everytime, not perfect, not saying he was innocent simply stating

    No downloaded cheats, no manipulation of game files. 7 key strokes that ANYONE in game can do right now. I’m honestly curious how many people have accidentally found this, has to be a handful, regardless

    BAN ONE PERSON FOR THIS BAN THEM ALL.

    Not multiple standards for different people, again if we did this enforcing laws a few words would be muttered pretty quickly if certain people had the ability to get away with things but others weren’t.

    I'm not trying to change your mind. You have your experiences and feelings about them.

    What I hope people consider is not taking it out on those that still love the situation they are in.

    Many are new here, they still very much enjoy the experience and they just want a fun escape and social experience.

    The social experience is very not fun a lot of the time in SoT.

    Battling a company in a game for enforcing ToS comes at a cost. The drama gets to people, a lot. The fighting gets to people, a lot. It drives people away, it sends people into a form of isolation in a game that is built around having fun with others.

    That's the cost, people that having nothing to do with it are getting discouraged, disheartened, and sometimes recruited into constant negative experiences.

    And up until “Easy anti cheat” I don’t think the hammer has just been whompin dudes. I still love the game, I used to think these stories on the forums were exactly as you have stated it. People did some wild stuff and got banned. Example

    “Theb” was banned years ago for downloading cheats that altered the games files and now wants a second chance…. NO you absolutely knew that you were cheating.

    I used to think that the other “normies” non streamer types that got banned were in a similar boat.

    My friend fired out twice with a rod launch. Gets DC’d, upon trying to reconnect, “uhhh dude it says I’m banned”

    He never used it in HG, we aren’t the sweatiest players that walk the seas we are a strong crew avg or slightly above avg but definitely not out here winning every fight.

    I don’t want you to change your mind, I just want you to see, hear, and maybe empathize with people that are out here saying that this IS happening.

    I don’t think everyone or even the large percentage falls into this category, however they do exist and it is a reality that is playing out.

    I've spent years trying to encourage people to "keep it clean, keep it on the up and up". Warning people of the risks of a record of exploiting and/or causing trouble in the game. The only thing I get out of posting on the forums is feeling like I tried to contribute to the environment I share. I don't gain anything other than that by posting.

    Empathy is something I have a lot of, but I have a long history of saying that it's not a good idea to demand that Rare "clean things up" while people were also regularly doing things that weren't a good idea to do.

    I'm not against people, I never have been. I'm not a yes man or a company man for any company. When I challenge narratives and conduct out of the veteran side of things it's not because I don't empathize and it's not because I'm against them, I was trying to keep people outta trouble in one way or another.
