I work in development and appreciate all the time that the team put into Guilds. That said, I am flabbergasted that the decision was made to only have the Chest of Fortune (COF) at the FOTD!? For how long season 9 was, having the COF made it easy to find fights at Fort of Fortunes (FOF). It was an actual world event and pretty easy to server hop and find some action. Then Season 10 comes out and I have yet to even see 1 FOTD to have fun at. Why would you not have them at both or change it weekly. I know I could put the time into getting all the lights and starting the FOTD but that’s taking the short time I have to game away. Why not put the COF in the Fleet?. I really hope you make some COF changes before the end of the season or the very very long awaited Season 10 is a big L. I love this game and want it to succeed. Thanks for creating it.
COF at Fort of the Damned (S10)
Well I don't think there is a problem with FOTD itself, its always fun to fight around there.
The reason you don't see many, is that it costs 300 doubloons to start it. Recently for last 2 patches, we had old cosmetics dropped for thousands of Doubloons.
I am literally sailing around like a hobo, checking everything just to find some doubloons now.
So instead of making it cheaper/removing restrictions to purchase it from Larina.
This is now literally Cartmanland - You can't come!

If lights aren't the problem, use ritual skulls or team up with someone who has doubloons galore.
@lem0n-curry Well getting ritual skulls by chance is not as easy. Their spawn rates seem to have been slightly reduced as well, maybe it's just my luck.

It being at the FoTD is amazing for PvE discords as they can back to back FoTD 3+ times per hour so much faster progression than it being on a fort rotation. However from Rares "Play your way" mindset which is part of the foundation of SoT having the ONE thing you are hunting for only come from ONE location seems to be contradictory to that point.
These updates have clearly been more for the sake of streamers. Ever since Summit1G the development focus has turned to "We need to add stuff to 1 location so everyone knows where their prey will be for the sake of the twitch views!" They went in hard with the twitch drops in season9 where it was more about making us watch people play than giving us a reason to play ourselves. CoF is basically the new chest of legends. The one item from 1 source that you need to hunt down for progression. CoF being at multiple locations would ruin it for streamers. Yet it would be like everything else in the game. Look for a ship and see what they are up to.
I would much rather have multiple sources of the CoF than it just being at 1 event each season. Will we at least see a gilded chest of fortune voyage for xmas? highly unlikely as they have put 0 thought into gildeds since their release (with the exception of literally ruining the gilded athena voyage) I think they should at least have a CoF voyage people can do along as well as it being at a world even so there is SOME variety. Though with how broken CoF being at FOTD is they honestly might as well have every world event award a CoF.
If it's going to be like this every season with the chest locked to 1 event 2024 is going to be tedious as hell just like 2023 has been.

We use the Fleet to get some; but haven't done one this Season yet.
I can be persuaded to invest some doubloons and do FotD's after I had my lunch 😁.

Nope. CoF moves each season.

I don't understand the thought per season basis. Why not change weekly or daily. Just seems so restricting in this day and age of gaming. My main point is that the COF caused people to have a reason to be at one place and that place could easily be found by server hopping. Now they made it even harder for non-alliance servers to ever find it. What if this season lasts as long as the last season. Just terrible decision making.The idea behind the CoF was to revitalise the worldevents which were pretty dead ever since season 8 got released. Noone was really doing any of the worldevents including FoF and the CoF did indeed change that in season 9. However FotD was never as dead as the other worldevents, because the fact that there's pretty much 1 guaranteed ship at every FotD made sure that despite there being no real valuable loot, every fotd was contested. FotD did and does not need to be revitalize, since it has always been a contested event.
Now the CoF is moved to fotd. FotD are still as contested as they were before, but now worldevents are dead again. This decision makes no sense.

I did 3 fotds yesterday (fought off brig and 2 sloops for them), while doing hg I also saw at least 3 on different servers. How hard are you looking?

Maybe FotD does not need the special chest or maybe completely a new one. It is stackable, and on-demand, it is already lucrative because of that. FoF lost interest once again now. I sold 3 Ritual Skulls in 2 sessions and I got +5500 dubs sitting around. 😈
@pithyrumble I had 6k recently, but then Shackled Phantom hull and some other cosmetics happened :/ Also since I had captained voyages for the skulls stacked on my ships (Thank you Rare :/ ) , I knew how much Shackled would cost me as well, I kept buying some gold with doubloons during double reward events and I had nothing else to spend them on.
