Lower the max level cap for safer seas

  • I feel like level 40 is extremely high to max out in safer seas. Once someone was to hit 40, they'd only need to do 2 skull forts on a community to reach pirate legend status. I feel like making the cap 25 or 30 would be just the right amount for it. This way, they'd need to complete half of their journey on the high seas. Even though the gold and rep have been reduced to only 30%, there will be people who won't care and will refuse to switch to high seas. I feel like pirate legend should be treated as a huge milestone for people or a goal in this case. Back when the game first came out there was no emissary, sovereign, or reapers. Heck, the only way to get merchant max was to do animal runs. But that grind and finally reaching pirate legend after months was one of the most satisfying things to achieve. I just wish that feeling could stay the same for others. But in my opinion, safer seas will smudge that feeling.

In the high seas. With other players….

    Yeah and?

  • No it's ok. Grinding to 40 with only 30% of value (so 450 gold at best) is ok slog. Worst than in year first ;)

  • I probably would have set it to 30, but even 40 is going to take awhile at 30% so it's kind of whatever.

They aren't going to change anything about it at this point though.

  • This has been discussed thoroughly since the announcement, level 42 is halfway towards level 50 exp wise. The amount needed for level 1-42 is the same as 42-50. People already reach PL in less than 24 hours, why does it matter if someone took forever to reach level 40 and then quickly reaches 50 on High Seas?

Also, reaching PL will have literally no use if they go back to Safer Seas.

  • You know. They should make it if your PL you can’t join SS. Just a thought

Well, that's one way to make sure folks never leave the Safer Seas to become Pirate Legend and lose access to it forever.

  • @burnbacon oh no i got friend who need introduction, training on skelly ships etc. so barring PL playerd is barring eny toutor from entering SS it would hinder the tutorial use of it.

  • @realstyli

So far. I don’t see many leaving anyways.
Many have said they don’t care for PL, as long they can sail with friends without conflict.

    @ghutar

Many alt account. Seems to be the thing to do these days.

  • @burnbacon it would be plain stupid to push players into making alt accounts.

  • @ghutar you realise that even after hitting max cap you can still play safer seas right?

  • @rentalmussel65 yes of course, I was just disscousing about becon idea of barrring PL from SS.

But you would punish those that do by removing an option for them once they reach PL?

Say someone loves the game but doesn't want to sail solo on the High Seas due to anxiety issues or some impairment, so they do High Seas only with friends and sail the Safer Seas when alone. They would lose access to the Safer Seas once they've played too long with their friends that they reach PL?

I'll keep saying it, but this all seems very petty.

  • They should definitely lower HC, with the max being 50 the cap should be more like 20.

  • @rentalmussel65 hard no

  • No it doesn’t need to be capped as 40 is enough and besides at least you can earn money in safer seas otherwise the safer seas would’ve been pointless

  • @rentalmussel65 lvl 40 is fine, will take them a while...
The only change I make, is, that commendations from the 3 original factions are capped to lvl 3 or 4

  • @schwammlgott

I’m just glad we can still earn money in safer seas even though it’s 30% but it’s good for doing tall tales and have the seas to yourself. It’s like in gta online you can sell your goods in invite only sessions.

Good for some people...I'm a PvE player mostly, but safer seas won't ever see me...doesn't give me anything of value (not just money wise)

  • @rentalmussel65

It will take an immense (crazy honestly) amount of effort and time to get to LVL 40 at a 30% gain (with no emissary option either).

The main reason players can get up to 40, as explained in the preview video, is that so players in SS can, over time, gain access to and experience all of the types of Voyages the faction NPCs have to offer.

The last thing someone that has grinded all the way to LVL 40 on SS is going to do is jump into High Seas to flex gains+ achievements. C'mon.

  • @schwammlgott yeah I understand but it’s there if you just wanna play the game at ease and chill with friends

I can chill with my friends in regular mode too...just need to know, how to hide
