Safer Seas vs PvE discord

  • My expectation was PvE servers would be an answer to PvE discords. Allowing people to get a similar experience but without having to wait in an 8 hour que.

Instead you compounded the negatives to playing on Safer Seas to the point where no veteran players will be interested. All the people who quit year1, 2 etc because of lack of PvE servers wont be coming back for such a limited mode.

I'm not sure if it was due to my recommendation about having -70% value of things. I really do think that is the correct way to do PvE by making you rewarded for playing PvPvE similar to World of Warcrafts "warmode" but now allowing captaincy or even reapers so there's no fast way to sell.

I 100% agree reapers is a pvp faction but even at reapers I have had selling trips as a solo player that has taken me nearly an hour to handing in loot. With how you are trying to make the game more time friendly to people not at least allowing sovereigns and captaincy seems like a mistake.

Also by adding Safer Seas it just further confirms your support of PvE discords, where the first sign of supporting them was allowing them to advertise on the official discord. PvE servers very much fall under the tools not rules mantra. But people can level reapers, captaincy, everything on a PvE discord. But your official PvE game setting is just missing half the games content which discord is exploiting on top of an insanely slower progression path.

I feel the slower progress was price enough for a safe place to play. Stripping half the games content. So you made this mode for youtubers and new players only?

Mainly new players, yes, that is also how they presented it in the video.

These servers are about 6x more expensive to run per player since only one crew instead of six can be on them while requiring about the same base resources

No wonder they dont want to advertise them as a full fledged safe mode
