So it finally happened.
I’m not here to cast judgement or feedback, this is purely just to announce to the forum.
I’m glad it’s finally happening, I just want October to hurry up!
be nice below, the devs have worked hard

@wolfmanbush I imagine the progression won’t be hilariously high because of this.
The entire point of captaincy was for people to tell their story through their activity and there was an option for serious grinding if people wanted it as a form of personal accomplishment. They already removed the significance of trinkets by nerfing it massively after 9 months. This is just alliance server'ing milestones.
In the part of the video about pledging ships to a guild, it says "A ship can only be Pledged to one Guild at a time. Pledged ships will move from your Captained Ships to Guild Ships."
To me, this implies you can join multiple guilds.
And if you can join multiple guilds, doesn't that just take away any point of starting one or working on a low level guild?
What are your guys' thoughts on the idea of being able to join multiple guilds?
@spill-the-milk Joining multiple guilds will help me out a lot! I am sure they will limit it? They have to right?
But I would hate to be in the Mods and Deckhands Guild and not be able to join the My Chemical Romance guild. And then a new one comes up that your friend just created...
It will mean one thing though... we're gonna need a lot of ships!
@musicmee
I would think it would be limited to one. What other game allows you to join multiple guilds/alliances? And again, if you can join many, to me that would cheapen the experience and make each other guild seem like a throw-away badge. You join the advanced guild, get your fancy outfit, and then all other guilds are just "lolz.. this is guild has a funny name."

Elder Scrolls Online, you can join up to 5 guilds. *I didn't play ESO long enough to join a guild so that's just what popped up on a quick google search
@paulski93
That's what I predicted when guilds where leaked.
It's not going to benefit a lot of players , since most either are solo, or play with the same few players that are sometimes inconsistent in their game time spent.
I'm curious to find out what the average friend group a individual player plays with in this game.
It's also going to create drama I suspect if one group is left out of a prestigious guild in a community etc.
Really the guilds are going to benefit actual community's the most, players playing regularly together.

@necronikolai13 holy smokes!
Are there any perks or bonuses tied to guilds?
Looks like quite a few, tied to levels. Guild bank, a guild store that sells to other players, access to guild merchants. No guild hall, but you can travel to any member's default player home. I really didn't play ESO too long, I'm a severe packrat and storage space is very limited if you don't have premium, and I just didn't enjoy the game enough to pay the sub.
@tesiccl
Can't wait for guilds, I'm making one for Athena because I hate Reapers, well, if we can make our own guilds, but if it's just guilds of the companies and you can't make your own, then I'm joining the Athena Guild
Edit: I just saw the video, and I now understand the guilds, and I know what I'm going to name mine: The Fleet of the Diamond Pearl, named in honor of my pride and joy my galleon The Diamond Pearl

Ok we got guilds, but so what?, we get no guild hideouts, no gvg hourglass, nor a guild exclusive activity like: "capture the sea fort and hold it against another guild", why should i be excited about it then? it feels like we got a new shinny car but nowhere to drive to, we got some new cosmetics, sure, but its lacking a new feature WITH it, and i dont think there is anything planned for it on the horizon
If the 3 months delay were to develop at least one of the above or any new way to play the game guild related i would be hyped and im sure a lot of players would come back and enjoy it for months, but just the same old things except now you get to show you are in a guild to some randoms on the sea doesnt seem like a big improvement to me, most people already had a "guild" before anyway
We wanted something new to do with our friends like a place to gather, display our achievements or plan what we going to do within the session, maybe in that place somewhere to vote to enter a new game mode and compete with other guilds, that being some form of ship vs ship / capture the flag / king of the hill or anything like it with a leaderboard just like emissary ledger to motivate players to work for it, i feel like it would give a purpose to come back to the game and have fun while working to upgrade the guild hideout and placement within the leaderboard, i just hope devs know guilds needs more, and they dont leave it abandoned and forgotten like shrines and treasuries.

You guys have friends? I don't haha
As a solo player, Guilds are absolutely useless to me. I'm not moaning. I'm just stating. It's my decision to play solo and I can't expect Rare to create content for solo players. It is what it is.
Enjoy the update everyone.
I'm not gonna make/join one because I gotta keep my stats clean and accountable
but I think there is quite a bit of opportunity for solos to create guilds based around solo play.
solos can build up from the bond of independence and if friendship happens cool and if everyone just gives everyone their space that's cool too
definitely something that could work for some and would give solos the opportunity to be a part of a community project without overstepping their own boundaries.
Any solos that are are looking for advice on that or ideas or something along those lines are welcome to contact me after the content gets implemented

i had a "guild" before this update and i agree with you, this is useless to me also, we got no new way to build something together or compete with other guilds, so i guess the only point of this update is showing you guild name to some randoms you will never see again on the seas, quite disapointing.
@musicmee The idea of a Mods and Deckhands guild is halarious to me. No offense to you guys but I can just imagine you guys shooting over to another ship, anchoring it then shooting away like nothing happened lol.
Happy Sailing!
@pithyrumble OH YEAH! I totally forgot. If you have rare cosmetics I guess people would invite you to a Guild so they could use it.
Happy Sailing!
Please for the love of god don't flood the commendations with do everything all over again but this time while in a guild!
I came close to insanity when I was told to do all the same achievements again as a captain. I don't think I could stomach being told to do it all again a third time.
Where is the new game play content for Guilds?
Please not sail 1000 miles in a guild while collecting 500 pigs!

That would be a great way to implement it, I dunno the full design yet but that would be the best way, especially with boat sharing
If they had a guild tab in captaincy and kept that tied to guild activity that would make it actual activity rather than just cheesing, as boat sharing is part of that design so in its own tab it would be fine.
@madmark1961 c’mon now, it’s a new system so of course they’ve not been keeping track of anything and we’ll all have to start from scratch again… ;)
