LFG for Hourglass in game!.

  • I think what they should do is add a selection in the menu that lets you choose between SoF hourglass or Guardian hourglass and matches you with people who have the same intent. this would make a lot of sense and would eliminate a lot of server hopping for people who wanna find a hourglass group. I don't think everyone should have to join groups threw the discord or any other service just to be able to competently play the game mode they would like to. Truth is those without friends playing or those not using the discord, it is very hard to find a like minded group. 90% of hourglass i have ran in a galleon in open lobby has ended up dragging newer players into a battle they are not prepared for but due to there being no in game way to assure your group is understanding of the pvp hourglass you cant avoid having these players in your group. Pleas rare add this option to the join lobby menu.

  • A nice addition beside this would be a option in the menu that lets people choose what emissary they would like to run, allowing again players who need the same thing a way to find each other. very often when joining open crew you will hear, "what does everyone wanna do". At this point 1 person may make a suggestion and half the crew may leave based on that decision not aligning with what they intend to do.

  • @nc-madniss server hopping for hourglass ? Hourglass group ? If you sink with hourglass on you get server merged. If you want to find a fight you can dive and get matchmade

  • @callmebackdraft i understand that. what im saying is people joining and leaving open lobby over and over trying to find people for hourglass. we need an option at the main menu that lets people wanting to do hourglass match with each other.

  • To explain better. At the menu you could choose witch hourglass you wanna run, after a crew is formed it drops you at an outpost just like open crew. only difference is everyone will be there to run hourglass and you will have a lesser chance of people leaving or not being ready for pvp.

  • Open Group Hourglass?

    OMG Self Torture :)

  • @nc-madniss there us stuff here for that, xbox LFG and official sot discord.

Anybody doing open crew hourglass is looking for help in the wrong spot imho

  • @callmebackdraft so your saying if someone wants to q for hourglass they should be using 3rd party software or xbox app to find there group? i disagree and think you should be able to find a group within the game without having to search outside sources. And i dont think this would be for pirates that need help rather it would be for pirates who would not want to have to filter threw another service trying to find a group inside the game. Don't get me wrong i love the open world of sot but if your not joining threw discord, xbox app etc. then you are forced to join open crew were everyone's idea of what there gonna do differs. As someone who uses the discord to find groups and also uses open crew often i have noticed that open crew very often falls apart before even sailing because half the crew will not want to do the same things. you que in and have a crew of 4 only to have multiple people leave while you are left standing alone at the outpost waiting for people to join and stay.

This has been the way for over 5 years and since Rare is a Microsoft game studio i think them relying on the lfg system is not that crazy and by using these two avenues it prevents them from having to develop an entire internal system.

Yep that is the problem with open crew, imagine a world where only open crew exists, meaning there was no such thing as closed crew… ow the painful days of year one.

Anyways, would they be able to develop a internal matching system ? Yeah they 100% can.

Is there already a perfectly useable system in use ? Yes there sure is.

Would the development of an internal system be an efficient use of money and time ? I honestly think it wouldn’t be

  • I think an ingame LFG in general would fix this.
