Open Crew HG mode

  • It feels like there should be a way to queue for HG directly from the startup screen, choosing Guardians or Servants, and perhaps ship size (or not) and simply get placed on a ship with other people queued as such for that faction.

Having to use outside sources and programs like Discord or Xbox Live to find groups seems ... unfinished.

I think it would be nice to have a method of ensuring that your opponents will have the same random teammates as yourselves, as constantly having to face an unending slew of premade teams is rough when you yourself dont have established teammates.

As someone whose friends dont play SoT, always staring down the barrel of HG being either solo sloop [mod edit] or trying to find teammates who have the slightest idea what to do amongst the Discord servers is just a deeply unsatisfying feeling.

What about people who dont use Discord or Xboxlive or have an extensive SoT friendslist? How are they supposed make any meaningful inroads into the HG's substantial grind?

  • The only way this would work is if there was no way to turn off the hourglass and it was always enabled on whatever ship was created by this matchmaking setup, otherwise you could queue up for these but if the other players on the boat don't vote for it then there isn't really a difference between this and regular open crew.

  • I saw it as it would put all of you on the boat, underwater, with a short wait to fill your pockets and establish roles

  • Yes that does take away from the social sandbox aspect of SoT, but by allowing premade teams in the first place theyve already opened the door for disparity in team experience, skill, and supply count

  • @soulstinger2k20 Please avoid using cancer as a derogatory term, as it is an issue that is all too real for far too many people. Your post has been edited accordingly.

  • I want an ingame LFG, but I'd be very happy to settle for this.
