@jj-h816 a dit dans The cure for sea of thieves PVPVE :
@jolly-ol-yep so “git gud” is essentially the response lol. I am all for more gold for a pver to defend his ship as it does a few things. Rewards them for learning to pvp, it may actually encourage it, it gives me more chances at loot grabs, it may keep players around, and it may bring them into the HG mode once they learn how to fight some. How is any of this a bad or damaging thing?
I don't think spotting player's ships is in the "git gud" category. It's more into the "beginner's survival tips". Maybe they should map spyglass to left-click bby default and make you spawn on the nest of your ship more, I don't know.
Jokes aside, not need to try and convince me more. I understand what you propose, I just don't agree with you. But that's OK, people don't have to agree all the time.
I really think spotting potential threats such as unknowned player's ships and learn to avoid them is a core skill to acquire in SoT. There's always a way to know what's going on 2/3 squares around where you are and spot a potential threat. If not, there's always a way of avoiding a fight. If not, there's always a way to secure one's loot. Until there's not. That's the game in a nutshell and it's just called being outplayed. That happens. GGs.
But I truly think PvE is just a different gameplay, not less demanding than PvP, just different. They just have built-in reflexes and muscle memory tied to guns/sword, while our muscle memory is set to our spyglass/speaking trumpet/lantern since we have lights off.
I even thought of an argument myself about rewarding fight. Usually, if you manage to sink your pursuer, you might get yourself a broken Reaper emissary flag. These sell quite well at the tavern now with s8, giving you the bonus you propose (pro tip: park at the outpost, activate hourglass and war map and vote for diving - this will prevent invasions and you won't actually dive if you don't leave the OP. Now raise Athena emi, sell Reaper flag, lower Athena emi. You might even get some allegiance on top of money depending on conditions unclear I quite don't get. Wait 15 minutes, lower hourglass, you can leave without a fight. You got money, possibly allegiance, and progress towards this month's Athena emissary ladder. Not rewarding enough ? )
Plus if you sink them now you can have their supplies. If they had wood/cannonballs crate you can sell them too.
