Cursed Loot

  • Idea to have some sort of very rare and valuable loot item, like a chest or something, that increases your chances of enemies like phantoms, skeletons, megalodons, krakens, and maybe even new enemies, from spawning near you.

    Of course, the first problem with this idea is that it could simply be used to farm these enemies’ loot, however one way to fix this would to introduce variants of these enemies, for example a phantom megolodon, that drops no loot after it has been killed, but still attacks your ship. Holding or being near the item/chest would heavily increase the chances of these ‘special’ enemies spawning, but without the item they would never spawn.

    So basically a cursed item, that is very valuable but, similar to the chest of rage and other items, will make your life a pain until you sell it.

  • im not entirelly sure, but I think there is alrdy a system in place that lets random encounters like skelly ships appear more often the more loot you have on board.
