PVE servers are required, not everyone has the luxury to “practice” 10 hours a day to fight off ppl you don’t wish to have conflict with. Or make it a reportable offense and bannable to chase ppl all the way around the map who clearly do NOT want to fight. When you’re contacted by the person asking to stop chasing them because they aren’t a pvper, and you continue to chase anyways, there’s honestly something mentally wrong with you. Someone works solo for four hours who needs gold and rep, and you just take it all from them in a matter of minutes after logging into the server, nah that’s bs, ppl like that have no place in society it needs to be addressed.
Common replies: 1: “get good” yeah not helpful, not everyone is your young age with your reflexes, and a lot of ppl have disabilities.
2: “make friends” yeah many ppl enjoy playing solo, quit worrying about how others want to play.
Also if you’re any good at pvp, then fight others who want to fight, not those who run, you’re a trash human being.

Ahoy!
The team have semi-recently given their thoughts on the topic of PvPvE and discussed it in an official Podcast here.
There is also a thread for Custom servers here.
Sea of Thieves will always be a shared world adventure game, with elements of both PvP and PvE but Joe did speak about Custom Servers about a year ago. These servers will not offer Gold or progression IF they become available to the public. Private Servers are still being tested with our Partners.
