I have been playing since day 1 and NEVER have I had ping this high before. Anyone else getting really high pings for their server area? I can't even connect to my friends on West Coast without getting MIN ping of 180. How is that possible? Never seen ping so high before.

AHOY! I agree with the ping issues and the servers. Unfortunately, Xbox doesn't have a feature to display on-screen within SOT whether or not my ping is high. But when I go the long route, I have noticed severely high ping. I just witnessed a gallon grow wings and become the flying dutchman. Back to the tavern I go. Happy sailing!

Yes, well aware. I play cross-platform so yes, we can experience it too. Also, unlike PC we don't get a feature to view our ping so we're just in the dark to guess. Unless we go through our Internet Settings to see. We're not all that different when it comes to server lag matey.

Most definitely, my friends and I are actively researching it. We've come across many bugs and server issues in the past three days of our return to the seas that we thought were fixed back in the anniversary update. But I know Rare will work to resolve these issues and look at the big picture for its community.
It would be great if @Rare could address this. I've been following the server performance issues pretty closely, including watching the podcast episode where the talked about it recently. From that, I understood there were improvement plans in place, but this appears to be going the opposite direction. It would be nice to know what they think the cause is and an ETA on a fix. Is it a software issue to be patched upon next release? Is it a server issue that could be fixed tomorrow? There's been hit registration issues for a long time and I know they're working on it, but these new lag spikes are different and make the game near unplayable on some servers.
Yeah I agree with this post since the update and even more from when they added the new adventure. The server performance is very poor we sank a Ship with some loot the ping skyrocket to 180 and it wasn't even too much loot. Sometimes I have a bug that doesn't let me grab anything the game just freezes I can bring the main menu up but I can't move or do anything until the server responds.
I think they should worry way more about the performance of the game than the actual adventures that are making the problem even worse.
