Option to fix the boat's outside

    My ship-mates and I complain about this pretty frequently as we're the kind of ship that tends to go on looong voyages and fight everything we see along the way. Sooner or later our boat starts to look more like Swiss-cheese than a sea worthy vessel. Would it be feasible to add some kind of a mechanic that allows us to fix the OUTSIDE appearance of the ship? Perhaps using planks to at least patch up the hole graphics so we can see the paint job again? Or maybe add an option to the Shipwrights at Outposts to "repair the boat" for an amount of gold equal to damage sustained or something.

    I know you can "refresh" the boat by sinking it but its a bit of a pain to do that when we have 300+ cannon balls, 100+ planks, and a ton of fruit/fish we have to move every time we want to do that. :(

    Personally I wouldn't care for that, I wear the damage on my ship as a badge of honor throughout the session. Shows I've been through many battles yet survived them all.

    I don't see any reason to not have it as an option

    a repair option with gold is a great all around option imo

    To me this is one of those QoL things that doesn't negatively affect anyone else which means the only opposition to something like this is "deal with it" or "I don't care what my ship looks like", sentiments that don't matter to the request because other people want it so they should have the option imo.

    I don't disagree with this philosophy, but occasionally I just want to be able to see my pretty boat. :P

    They are called. “Battle scars” and ladies love a man with scars and the tales that follow. XD

    I’m more scared to come across a ship with a lot of battle damage. Means they mostly either sunk a lot of ships and live to tell the tale, or got hit a lot and away. (But you never know)

    Cheap way. Get a rowboat, storage crates and empty your ship. Scuttle and done. New ship with coat of paint.

    New ship won't spawn at the same island and you have the risk of a server merge during the voyage from your new ship to the rowboat.
    Or a very thankful pirate that comes across your their supplies 😁.

    I agree, they really should have an option to visit a ShipWright for repairs that are simply cosmetic. Make it reasonably expensive too so we got something to spend all this damn gold on.
