Overhaul the Kraken already!

    I think it's time to finally overhaul the Kraken, for being most legendary and fearsome sea creatures told in myths and sailors stories all around the world the Kraken in game is particularly disappointing but it has amazing potential!

    The Kraken design features in Sea Of Thieves is already unique, having a large beak, mouths on it's tentacles and leaving pools of ink to blind and slow sailors it's got some real amazing features and foundations for an amazing boss but those features are underused.

    The tentacles mouths should be able to swallow loot left out on top deck, both making leaving loot out risky but giving us new ways to attack such as leaving kegs on the top deck! Or allow us to chop those tentacles that cling to our boat clean off, sure they let go but leave a pool of inky slippy fluids left on top deck making movement harder and more slippery.

    With the 'new' ship damage krakens should be able to slowly curl around masts and if not sliced to death should contract on the mast eventually damaging it to breaking point. Or a tentacles maws grasping onto the capstan shredding it's pegs (or the wheel too!)

    Introduce phases to the boss much like bosses in games like terraria, after dealing so much damage the krakens head is exposed where we must fire cannonballs into its eyes and mouth or have a brave sailor jump into its gaping jaws with a keg to deal the final blow. After it will slowly sink into the depths.

    An introduction of more basic attacks taking advantage of the many new features added to the game and giving the kraken a body would make this boss truly a terrifying foe! I beg of you Rare overhaul this under-developed beauty of a sea monster.

  • I love this idea, as is the Kraken is nothing but a giant piece of sh*t, it's so easy to kill and the most interesting thing it drops is actually the Kraken's meat because it's the 2nd best food in the game with the Megalodon. It's easy af to kill, the only game changing mechanic of this thing is the black water with a slow down mechanics, which is only interesting because it can change (in a rather unfair way) the tide of a PvP battle.

    It's kind of stupid that a Kraken will only attack one ship at a time too.

    I love how your ideas are not just dumb stat buffs but actual gameplay mechanics, it would make this encounter much more fun imo.

  • Im all for a rework but they need to remove the sticky-water for good. Just stupid when you have a fight with someone and you roll the dice and get krakened and lose for that only reason.
