I was watching one of the Twitch channels to get the cannons, and following along with the little chat stream.
Someone from Spain entered and said, "Hola, bro," and the moderators went nuts. They were like, "This is an English only chat room. We speak English here."
For saying "hola."
Hola gets a "SPEAK ENGLISH!" reaction. This is an international fanbase.
I fully recognize they have a difficult job and probably get paid in old Pac-Man stickers. I also understand it's impossible to moderate in a language you don't speak.
I have every sympathy, and their job is necessary.
If someone came on and said, "I want to smoke drugs and watch dirty movies" in Urdu, they wouldn't be able to stop the dangerous message in time!
But "Hola" seemed like a bizarre thing to come down on the guy for. He had just entered the room.
Well, well, looks like we got a Hola situation here. Next thing you know he's going to wish someone bon voyage.
And then he'll be encouraging the use of drugs and the watching of snuff films.
And THEN, the Host was like, "Hey, this is an English stream, and if you don't speak English, maybe it isn't for you."
Again, I know they have a tough job (the moderators), but it was very surprising to have the host chime in.
For Hola. Like it was a gateway drug.
It made me sad is what I'm saying. But, I guess I got the free cannons.
