I think it'd be amazing if we could have a Dolphin as a pet, which could jump out of the water and follow your boat, as well as perhaps be able to damage sharks. Downside being they can't go on land at all, of course. What cooler way to explore sunken ships than with a dolphin friend?! There are so many cool customization ideas as well. I just think it would be the cutest thing ever! Dolphin, Beluga, etc. A water mammal pet would be so fun.

@tranquilitree - I love the idea, however having it deal damage to sharks could be seen as a "Pay to Win" mechanic, since it would obviously cost real money, and would then create a small advantage for those who have dolphins.
So although it would make total sense for it to deal damage to sharks, I think that one point would be better left out if they did add dolphin pets.Really great idea though! :)
@tranquilitree i have always wanted a pet turtle, and people have suggested a fish tank for a free pet, wich would be a fish that you catch, you would put them in the fish tank and grow them till they are trophy sized. but yea any new animals would improve the hunterscall
@d4m0r3d Dolphin snouts are composed of very thick and strong bone, they can and will swim bellow sharks, then swim upward quickly and ram sharks in the underbelly causing internal damage.
They don't bite them or anything but use their snouts as a sort of ram.
EDIT: This, however, is going off of what I learned back in high school in a wild-life biology class, maybe this has been disproven, not sure, just something we read about.
So if I'm wrong I'll take it back lol.@davy-wood-beard i just always imagined they would run and not fight, cause i mean its not like they are gonna eat it. but according to google they do attack sharks, however it said small sharks, but idk. anyways i never really seen dolphins as a possible pet in sot cause i mean they arent pets irl, but maybe they could be added to the game and would help players swim faster/ defend them from sharks, that sounds pretty cool to me. maybe if they ever add a southern region, it could be completely water based, and would come with dolphins who do this
