Hi Mate, what means no resources?

  • @king-deka

It means you cannot get anything from any of your* supply barrels. No planks, no nana's, No cannonballs. - Items your are currently holding can be used.

    your = the hit ship

  • Venom and Sleep cannonballs are next week too. Not sure what the third is but I already say RARE should scrap the Sleep and Dancing CC.

  • @capt-sharazad Damn. No resources sounds killer. How long does the effect last?

  • @airsicktimelord 10-15ish seconds. It feels like an eternity. but its manageable. Just make sure to keep yourself fully stocked during that fight. also the golden rule for this event (cursed sails as a whole) "If in doubt. Bucket."

  • seriously, no resources! And it had to be ancient isles and late night too. Ancient isles really has it in for me.

  • Does "no resources" empty your barrels, or just make them inaccessible for a time?

As @Capt-Sharazad said, it just prevents you from accessing the resource barrels of the affected ship. No way would actually depleting your resources fly, even if it did somehow make it past the concept stage.

  • I think we all hate the cc lock ones (the sleep and dancing cannonballs). They're too powerful.

  • @becausescience1 I would rather be locked down for a few seconds than stumbling around drunk myself.

  • @strinder 2 things:
First, the dance stun lock is a full 15 seconds.
Secondly, you can still perform actions when drunk. Maybe not as well, but it's better then dancing as your ship sinks into the depths. Although being drunk is really annoying in the middle of a battle.

  • @becausescience1 I don't know, I understand the frustration of not being able to do anything but at least I don't drunk walk out on the deck and off into the ocean while doing a jig. Also, I found myself drunk walking into more of the cursed balls than I did just staying still drawing out the effect.

  • @strinder Yeah that's fair, it's all opinions on which cannonballs are worse. Anyway, i think Rare said that you wouldnt actually know what affect the cursed cannonballs had until they hit a ship (it's like a random thing)

  • @becausescience1 no I think there is a Picture in every CCB that Shows you the effect, look at Wandas Shop in Golden Sands

I believe the 3rd is the raising of your sails, or perhaps a gust of wind?

The Sandman’s Revenge – Sleep Emote
The Black Viper – Snake Venom
The Siren’s Gale – Sails Up (Or a gust of wind?)

  • @capt-sharazad well that sounds simply awful. I don’t completely hate cursed canonballs that affect the ship but ones that take control away from me are a frustrating mess.

Now we have ones that stop us from gathering resources. How did any one think that was a good idea. :(

    update
Just faced the ships that lock out our resources. It’s not too bad at all. Being able to freely move makes this one a mild annoyance. Makes me wish curses that take control away from our pirates (dancing/sleeping) would be removed entirely.

Curses that affect our ships are still tough but manageable. They don’t feel frustrating or cheap like the jigball.

To be honest. Face it. The Supply lock is manageable and quite quite easy. Soloing the Anchor drop one though...... Shudders

It just requires you to keep yourself fully stocked (full pockets) during the fight.

knocked out all 3 of the new ones last night. The Supply Lock was easy since we try to keep ourselves stocked normally, so I don't recall once going to the barrels and them being locked.

The Anchor Drop was annoying as heck though, but it was more of an Anchor Toggle than a simple Anchor Drop. When hit, it would drop the anchor and make it so you couldn't interact with it, but another hit would seem to raise it and also leave it non-interactive as well.

Yup. I like that tbh. Getting hit by a salvo of three was quite funny. Anchor up, down, up. in about 3 seconds xD

  • @king-deka ok thanks

Ah you mean new Ideas for Cursed Cannonballs WOW I like the dyslexia one

  • Can someone explain the new 3 Types for this week? Don’t played since Monday :(

    1. Sleep
    2. Venom?(it’s only the blind or the DOT too?)
      3.?
  • Those Cursed Cannonballs are creepy, as they fly by the ship you can hear em whispering.
    😨

  • @king-deka I heard Joe Neate say “rigging,” so I imagine it raises your sails.

  • @hoppentosse one of your replies has been deleted. Please try not use learning disabilities as jokes.
    Thank you!

  • Nobody knows the Cursed Cannonball Types for this Week, please with explanation :)

  • @HoppenTosse your reply has been deleted for the following reason.

    Derogatory Language

Name calling, personal attacks and using derogatory language against Community Members, Rare Employees, Global Moderators or Deckhands is not acceptable. • Full list of Cursed Cannonballs and their effects:

    • Anchorball - Drops or raises a ship's anchor depending on its position. (Switches back & forth between the two positions)
    • Limpball - Breaks the legs of all nearby crew members.
    • Jigball - Forces players to dance for several seconds.
    • Grogball - Causes players to immediately throw up and then leaves them mildly drunk for several seconds.
    • Barrelball - Locks all resource barrels, preventing players from resupplying.
    • Venomball - Poisons players, dealing damage over time (like the snake spit).
    • Riggingball - Raises all sails and locks them in place, preventing players from changing them.
    • Wearyball - Forces players to perform the "sleep" emote for several seconds.
    • Helmball - Locks the helm (wheel) in place, preventing major movements.
    • Peaceball - Disables a ship's cannons.
    • Ballastball - Makes a ship ride lower in the water.
  • @king-deka Cursed cannon balls have ruined this game. No good pvp anymore, just randomness. But I guess y'all got my money so why not ruin the game. What fun is sailing around only to run into some pvp that you can't do anything because they happen to have a dancing ball and you don't. Then they CC you, board and kill you while you can't do anything. Drop your anchor and destroy your ship. All while me and my crew had to just sit and watch. Just plain bad gameplay and game design for a constant pvp game.

Letting NPCs have the special cannon balls I understand. It's a way to balance them being bots and not people, to make them still give a challenge. But giving players these balls is not a good idea. This is easily abused and creates unfair, unbalanced, unsatisfying, and frustrating game play. Please remove these and make your game absolutely amazing once again.

Other than this one thing, the game is wonderful. But now unplayable.
