Does it just eat pirates? If pirates kill the kraken does that leave room for something even worse to take its place - i wonder if the lore book addresses all this stuff.

What does the kraken eat?

The Giant Kraken can eat any sort of fish that it wraps its tentacles around. They prefer harder creatures, crab-like animals in which they use their sharp beak to shatter to pieces. Kraken have a special salivary gland in which it can poison its meal with venom.

Never enough matey...never enough. Am guessing they only eat pirates coz they know all good pirates eats bagels and they hope to get the taste from them too.

On a serious note, If a Kraken did exist I believe it would be classified as a Cephalopod. and thus:
All living cephalopods have a two-part beak most have a radula, they feed by capturing prey with their tentacles, drawing it into their mouth and taking bites from it. With bottom-dwelling cephalopods eating mainly crustaceans, polychaete worms, and other molluscs such as whelks and clams; open-ocean versions eating mainly prawns, fish and other cephalopods
@rgbknights and arent those things ULTRA smart? I might be thinking of something else but they can figure out how to open closed lids or escape a tank
@chosen-predator I’ve heard somewhere krakens prefer the deckhands and their ships, especially @Musicmee , ive heard his ship has a real salty taste to it.

@djm-xr07 if they end up having a Moby d**k type of whale in game he's sure going to be happy the pirates are keeping the kraken at bay.
