Error "You have to be online to play..."

    I get error about having to be online whenever I start Sea Of Thieves. Its MS error, before game starts.

    Please help.

    check internet connection make sure if you play through Microsoft store you are signed into gamebar.

    i think its a xbox live issue i get the same error

    On the Xbox support site it says it has game outage but only applies to Forza Horizon 4. Could it be across multiple games?

    It says limited outage so only in certain areas.

    idk if xbox live complete down, i dosent own sea of thieves, i play it via gamepass(on xbox one x) and cant start the game , maybe people who bought it and have setup their console as homeconsole or having a disc version of sot can play.

    Same here in Italy from Pc, i was doing solo a raid in sloop. I was kicked out then I can't re-open the game cause of the same error. I own the game on Microsoft Store, both in the store and in the game bar i'm online... Welcome to Sea of Bugs in every update..

    Unplug you internet cable, and replug it. Worked for me!

    I'm in the U.S. I'm having no problems but on down detector there are no problems in U.S. but are lots all over Europe.

    Ya Microsoft has confirmed their servers are partially down. For once Its not SoT's fault.... I think. lol

    I was able to connect now so seems to be fixed.

    Pretty sure its the Microsoft services thats on the fritz. Not SoT.
