Sea of thieves spécial force ?

  • Hello Rare,

Regarding the issues with the Burning Blade and their excessive number of rituals, I was wondering... would you consider creating a "Sea of Thieves police force"? Currently, we can only report players, but what if we had the means to sink them instantly with a direct bomb that would write "FAIL" in big letters across the sky (maybe I'm going a bit far, lol). But you get the idea. This way, whenever we encounter those who don't play fair, the "Marshalls" could step in—obviously, these would be trusted players, and you have plenty of them.

    What do you think?

Best regards. (I'm French en use translator for this message )

  • Adding discord mods to sot would certainly liven things up I suppose...

  • Power cannot be trusted which is why a fair system is a system with checks and balances, otherwise it's a system of revenge and abuse.

Everyone that would want to be involved in that would have an eagerness to enforce, to flex power. That goes against the principles of fairness and justice.

  • @wolfmanbush

It depends on who you give the power to. That's why we need trustworthy people who are willing to enforce fair play. I think it would be useful if we could respond to these behaviors quickly and individually, so the server can regain the vibrancy and fairness of the game we cherish so much.

  • thats when i will quit the game, giving random dudes power, always worked out.

You're suggesting gaming vigilantism, street justice

which isn't a process of a justice it is a chaotic abuse of power in a community.

A trustworthy person does not seek power to enforce they use their power to serve the community. Anyone can serve this community by looking out for one another but not enabling each other. Encourage and uplift and stay true to principles.

Every group and every clique in SoT has people that the others look to for some form of guidance. If they stay consistent and lead by example, that is what makes a difference. That's where change happens. That's where people find inspiration to look at things differently, to approach things differently, to have a positive impact on others.

That's where trust can be found.

All of this exploiting stuff has to be addressed within, people gotta stop setting others up to go down the wrong path. Draw the lines and don't cross them. Start off with mass duping, it's never ok and it's never harmless.

  • Not street justice, no. Benevolence. But I'm probably being utopian. That said, since season 13, my servers have been filled with Burning Blade with over 300 rituals. And it's affecting everyone's morale. We'll need a solution
