Mick Gordon's Twitter

  • He posted this video playing what I assume is a song from Donkey Kong Country 2. Is Mick doing Sea of Thieves' music????

  • @Tedakin

Sorry to burst the bubble but, that is definitely not a shanty from Sea of Thieves... All music for the game is being custom made by Rare's own Robin Beanland.

My guess is, this was a prank of the music being overlayed on a video from the game.

    Edited to add: @TuttleButtle

  • @xdilligafx1974 Aye, agreed, but it was a nice throwback to the older days of Rare!

  • Definitely music being put over the top of some Sea of Thieves footage. The instrument he's holding in the video sounds like most other stringed instruments. The song is clearly just ripped from the game.

  • I wish!

That song is probably my favourite Donkey Kong song ever!

  • @xdilligafx1974
Should that footage be streamed anyway??
Don't see the beta watermark on it ;)
Or was he working on SOT?

  • @logansdadtoo Looks like he's using a camera to capture the footage... could be just missing the watermark. especially since I cant see his name bouncing around the screen.

  • the monkeys roar in sea of thieves reminds on donkey kong.i would like some reggae influenced shanty in sot

  • This was just put on the video in post. Even if you wanted to argue it sounded like the Hurdy Gurdy, the other instruments come in a bit in to the song. Think it was just a fun little video, doesn't mean anything.
