Very nice sets. They should be in the Xbox/Steam store too, got some really nice deals, especially for new players.
Also nice pre-order bonus! I'm assuming we won't be able to buy that Red Parakeet...ever 😂 (in before people complain about the Xbox unobtainables)
Special cosmetics are funny to me in this game.
Some go wild trying to chase the status of the cosmetics and a lot of new people are gonna get them, quit the game for years, and just casually wear them years down the road in open crew and will make people jealous without even being attached to any significance of what they have.

Depends on when they're rewarded and how P$ does preorders lol. I'm going to assume they are going to apply to the account and not be sent out via codes. If you can get into the beta and the pre-order bonuses show up, you might be safe 😈
I've heard of preoder bonuses being applied after cancels, got one myself from a pre-order fail. My experience is xbox only 😉
A lot of players are curious about cross progression. Even me, an avowed Sony hater. Would be nice to get some details. They could be missing sales...

@pithyrumble yea but there's a bunch of cosmetics that they'll never get like the Bone Crusher ship set, The 3 Sails for the 3 original Seas, and others from old events that aren't likely to return....be cool if they did for those who either missed them or are in PS5 but not holding my breath

Exactly what i was thinking.
The whole set seems so misplaced as a reward for preordering.
Any actual new playstation player will not get motivated to preorder the game because of this exact set being a part of it. As you say theyll get it basically accidentially and will maybe later on realize what they got, assuming they stick around.
Buying the game should be incentivized but new players dont have any cosmetics yet, so you could use literally any set in the game for that.
Instead they are getting an exclusive weaponset that probably wont be obtainable any other way (meanwhile gamepass players, who are likely to own a lot of ingame cosmetics already, are getting parrot and kraken sets)
It just seems way more as an incentive for current players to buy the game again simply because they want the weapon skins, basically a cashgrab nothing else.
At the same time this set could have motivated people to play the game if it was possible to earn it by actually playing the game.
It could have been a reward for anniversary, or give it to players during the first community weekend after ps5 release, to include the new players.
Or split it up similar to the obsidian set, let ps5 users have the blunder and make everything else earnable in different ways.

That is exactly what I was thinking... This is worth it only if we can link xbox account to the beta.
@qu1etone honestly I'm of two minds on the subject on the one hand I 100% agree with you but on the other with the ps5 release I'd say a something like a one off anniversary and or day/week 1 event where players can earn old cosmetics could be cool I have almost all the old event stuff so it's not really for me anyways
@otherfanboy I'd rather earn new cosmetics. What do players who have those cosmetics get? No old, only new. Let's keep sailing towards that new horizon.
