Only giving a title to the people who completed the fort of the damned is horrible. It takes over 25 hours of in game hours and people who have completed the fort deserve more than a title. Getting that title was underwhelming and I expected more. At least give a time exclusive figurehead to everyone who got 50 completions before the next update.
Fort of the Damned Rewards
There was no need to push yourself to the 50 completions now. The Fort of the Damned and all of its rewards are here to stay.
@sherpa725 ? im confused, you get lots of stuff for doing the fort of the damned, you can get an eye patch, face paint, a lantern and a cool jacket.
@d4m0r3d those are all good and great but there should be exclusive stuff related to the fort in dukes shop. The other clothes are fine in his shop don’t get me wrong but they have NOTHING to do with this months event.
@ultmateragnarok that’s what I don’t like. All of the other events had exclusive items related to the events. But this has no exclusive items related to the fort of the damned at all. Only a title is underwhelming
I doubt very much i will ever complete this fort 50 times, i have done it several times, and those didn't even count!! Now, i think i would rather just save time either attacking another crew who have completed it, or just be in an alliance and reap half the rewards whilst having nothing to do with the fort.
I think they added the fort as a new PvP interaction point. Since it involves the undead they released it during the witching season. This wasn’t supposed to be a monthly thing to do.
In all honesty I think they are going to move away from items that require you to complete something that can be interfered with by others. Now the timed cosmetics have become available through dukes black market. Either costs gold or doubloons. Something that any player can gather through normal play. Not sweaty play.
That’s why I rock the original Bone Crusher stuff. Only the early Sea Dogs got that stuff.

@k1lroyw4sh3r3 they should 100% return to the way they used to do the black market. Rare is making this game very noob friendly and it’s obvious. Before, you used to have to complete commendations to get stuff from the black market and that’s what they should return to. And while they’re at it add an item for 50 completions.
The Black Market is seperate from the other time-limited cosmetics. The time-limited commendations, titles, and cosmetics are going to be things you do not have to PvP to get. Things you are likely to PvP with, such as the FotD itself (both in getting the lanterns and the actual stronghold) are not time-limited, as you can try your hardest to get those done and still be prevented by other players. Since the FotD is here to stay, and its cosmetics and titles as well, there are no time-limited cosmetics other than the Black Market. Rest assured that the next update will come with more cosmetics which require you to unlock time-limited commendations for the event. The Black Market is an addition, not a replacement.
@sherpa725 Agreed. Clearing the FotD 50 times is quite the undertaking and I'm quite surprised that only a title is the spoils for achieving that feat. It does seem a little underwhelming.
Somewhat related... I also miss the event specific, time-limited cosmetics which shows you were playing during a specific event and were able to complete all the commendations during that time. Badges of honor, so to speak.
Lol Well people already pitched a hissy-fit over the requirements to complete this commendation and it doesn't even reward more than a title and some doubloons like you said.
Imagine if there were a cosmetic reward behind it; people would whine and moan even more about it saying "Booo Rare why are you holding my loved ones hostage and forcing™ me complete this commendation???"
(well I mean... that's already what they're saying anyway...)

Not to mention all of the actual adventure and piratey fun with people attending to steal your forts.
