HOT PURSUITS

Duke has several Bounty Voyages for brave pirates to take, which will not only give you a chance to nab these new Chests of Rage but will also present opportunities to use them against the crews of skellies gathering throughout the Sea of Thieves’ different regions.

Each Voyage will see you head to The Devil’s Roar to acquire one of these tempestuous trunks, before heading to a target region to use them against the skellies. You might also try firebombs if you really want to bring the heat! Whatever you do, get that Chest of Rage back to the Gold Hoarders for a red-hot reward of gold and reputation – or perhaps The Reaper’s Hideout can offer a bigger payday?

GETTING STARTED

Claim Chests of Rage Bounty Voyages by speaking to Duke, who you’ll find in any tavern on the Sea of Thieves! Our favourite Bilge Rat may be having a hard time lately, but he’s always ready with a hot tip on the latest action.

Each Voyage will send you to The Devil’s Roar to retrieve a Chest of Rage, then on to another region to smash rising crews of skellies with your newly found treasure – this Cursed Chest provides both profit and punishment!

GETTING STARTED

MOLTEN MAYHEM

The intimidating Molten Sands Fortress is roaring into life in response to Captain Flameheart’s machinations. All other Forts have gone cold while the skellies of the Sea of Thieves muster at this new hotspot, so expect plenty of company!

Chests of Rage can be found inside the vault at Molten Sands, so not only does a big payout await brave pirates here, but also plenty of opportunities to achieve Commendations for burning up the bony defenders.

TOMES OF RESURRECTION

With recent events in mind, it’s no wonder that the latest Ashen Tomes to turn up are entitled Tomes of Resurrection. Pirates are still encouraged to intercept these infernal texts, and there are five tomes to collect in this final set. You can still come across tomes from previous sets, too. Take any Tomes you find to Duke to unlock Ashen cosmetics!

Grab this last set from Skeleton Ship battles, Molten Sands Fortress, Black Market Stash Voyages and encounters with Ashen Guardians as usual. The Tomes are always locked in Ashen Chests – if you can’t find an Ashen Key from general encounters, you can purchase a Key Stash Voyage from Duke.

CHESTS OF RAGE

CHESTS OF RAGE

A new kind of Cursed Chest has been discovered, known as a Chest of Rage! Duke has heard dire rumours of the souls of innocent pirates being trapped inside the chests, which might explain their incandescent anger. These chests are bursting with fiery fury which will be vented sooner or later! Perhaps there’s a way to cool down a Chest of Rage, or alternatively make it blow its lid. Remember, when you’re a pirate, every trap is also a weapon…

Just like other Cursed Chests, these items are very valuable to the Gold Hoarders. However, during the Crews of Rage update, it seems there’s a double payday to be made by taking them to The Reaper’s Hideout instead, at the cost of sacrificing the reputation boost. Find Chests of Rage in Molten Sands Fortress or through Duke’s current Bounty Voyages!

ASHEN SKELETONS

The skellies have spent so long getting rained on by volcanoes and covered in ash that they’ve begun to look a little different over in The Devil’s Roar, many draping themselves in red-hot decorations. Perhaps they’re also trying to show their devotion to their new Lord…

In any case, watch out for Ashen Skeletons – these fiends have developed a tolerance to burn damage! Though they can catch fire, their baked bones won’t crumble from the heat. Think twice before setting off that Chest of Rage! Luckily, they can still be smashed through more direct means.
