I have never encountered the shrouded ghost there is a joke me and my crew have about it being a myth. I really would like to encounter one is there any tips if not I propose a spawn percentage change.

@fatdave12 We just sail around cannon cove till we get a meg. Check the color and move on. Check near lookout point, then smug bay, then north of Marauder's Arch. Repeat.
Should mention that I have yet to kill a SG but we get a lot of meg spawns with the above.
Just as the great krakens which roam the seas are legendary for not letting just anyone escape their grasps and fewer still defeat them, the Shrouded Ghost wouldn't be legendary for being rare if you saw it all the time. Think on that.
Yes, it's a recolored megalodon, the same as all of the rest of them. It has slightly different behavioral patterns in comparison to the others, but it still does megalodon attacks.
@ultmateragnarok that we can still stop with the same amount of cannon balls as other megs. The only variation to meg behavior and combat is the type of ship youre on. So sadly the shrouded ghost isnt special at all.
Some do have more health actually, but it doesn't scale with any particular type. It simply goes up by a couple every level of meg, while the actual attacks are different. As for it being special, it's like the Box of Wondrous Secrets - it's special because it's rare, and seeing it makes for a great story, not because it gives you anything for it. Difference between that box and this megalodon, is that there is a 50 dubloon reward for it, and Athena's Fortune reputation too.
@ultmateragnarok Its only Rare because all megs are carbon copy the health variations are based only on the type of ship they spawn on. So instead of making a less rare more fun shark to fight we get copy and paste code with a reskin. Kind of like all these new voyages and blackmarket items duke has. Rare is the master of the copy and paste technique.
The megalodons' healths vary slightly from color to color, and more greatly from ship to ship. The difference between the colors isn't enough for you to likely notice it.
@ultmateragnarok ive counted canon balls and its been the same regardless of color and the attack timings are always right on que. There is no variation unless youre on a different ship
Good for you. They also vary in health from fight to fight, though for obvious reasons that's a bit harder to test just how far it goes. Chances are you got lucky.
@ultmateragnarok Ive fought and killed over 300 megs man theyre cookie cutter houses just painted different colors. Rare reskinned the same shark with a copy paste method adjusted the variables based on ship spawn adjusted the spawn rates and called it a day. We got the lazy layout instead of it actually feeling unique.
Well they're ignored by the majority of people who encounter them anyways, so why would they get effort? It spices up the world in the way of doing more or less damage, and it looks interesting, but it's not like people do much with them.
