Skellie Player Option

  • It's about time they allow players to be Skellie Captains.

    • Choose Skellie/Pirate when you start.
    • Captain skellie ships.
    • Defend forts.
    • command lesser skellies.
    • New skins.
    • Upgrade skellie types (shadow/gold, etc.
    • Gain commendations, gold for killing pirates destroying ships.

  • There should be no awards for killing players apart from the treasure they carry.

    I like the concept though.

However how it should be executed should be different imo.
Instead of having it as a choice, make it so that the curse is something that happens to you.

A way to include this is to add some form of treasure that curses the crew when picked up, or opened.
Lets say its a golden idol.
One pirate in the crew finds a random treasure chest and opens it up to find the golden idol, and upon opening the chest, the entire crew is cursed until their next play session.

No shadow, veggie or gold player skeletons though because that would be hard to balance.
Infact one could call it a nightmare to balance.

There could be bonuses for having the curse, such as, health regen over time. (Have speed of food regen)
    Bullet resistance
    Immunity to drowning
Normal island skeletons ignore the player (except quest skeletons)

  • @ultimate-powa yeah, those are good points. I definitely like the idea of defending a fort though. Maybe if you successfully defend it long enough, you get the vault loot.

  • @captain-arcanic
    Defending Strongholds sounds fun yes.
Question is how to balance it properly.

What if nobody but you is doing Strongholds?
Sometimes they sit for hours on end.
And how do you balance a team of 4 vs a solo sloop trying to do the stronghold?
4 players and an army of skeletons vs 1 player.

I'm afraid the stronghold thing won't happen simply because it is so hard to balance.

There is a way to add the skeleton curse.
If it's just a cosmetic though, that's all it will be.
    No bonuses.

Thats why I suggest making it something that happens to the player.
Maybe even make it so the curse lasts as long as the crew has the idol on board.
If another crew takes the idol or the ship sinks, they lose the curse.

  • Not trying to put down on your idea btw.
It is something I have wanted myself.

This game though is heavy balanced and has to be.
Every idea that can alter PvP must be thought of in terms of balance.
