Cannons should have different sounds

  • I got this idea from reading the Magpie's Wing cannon description "Louder than the pirate lord himself." I thought that would be really brilliant to actually make different cannons have different sounds, or at least the special ones like bone crusher, ocean crawler, kraken etc.
It would be super awesome to hear thundering cannons from afar that show off the experience of the players themselves.

    why not mate

  • Ooooh I agree.
Would be especially cool when drenched in fog.
Is mostly purposeless as it doesn't matter what aesthetic of cannon fired at you...but could add some uniqueness and flavor to the battle.

Perhaps different sounds for different c-balls as well.
    This could be utilized tactically.

But all depends as ship to ship battles are such a rarity.
Boarding and spawn camping is the preferred method overall.

  • It'd be a blast if the Kraken Cannon had the normal sound, but with a feint Kraken scream near the end of the explosion, just blended really well.

  • @lil-fokker Yeah they are quite rare but I love hearing every penny of my 70k gold each time I fire a cannon.

And yes, an Xbox crew's ship is the PC's players natural habitat, preying upon them while they're still loading, but that's not Rare's fault it's just how consoles work. Hopefully Project Scarlet lives to its name when they say "no loading screens."
