Davy Jones Locker

  • Specific outposts could have access to Davy Jones Locker. It could be an island with 3 docks, left to right with the galleon, brig, and sloops at the end. Entering the locker at the outpost will store the ship and everything on it to be stored. It can be a place where players can change ship sizes while playing or to store items before logging off (if I want to save a few chests for when a friend logs on and the such). It could just be a small area that is crew specific, where the crew or a shared hub very similar to the Ferry of the Damned. Using the wheel of the chosen ship allows it “spawn” back to a random unoccupied outpost. The locker could have a tavern that displays complete quests and accomplishments.

Another idea I would like to see implemented would be new vanity items for both characters and ships. A see through effect for the true “ghost” look for both characters and ships. Also skeleton vanity for players with a new quest line called “path of the undead” or something like that that is unlocked after becoming a pirate legends. The player can become an undead and fight alongside them, with forts becoming undead outposts and the undead ship spawning skeletons (always doubles crew limit, so a galleon will have 8 total, 4 AI skeletons and 4 players).

  • Storing supplies between sessions is a bad idea because it can be easily abused. The reason ships aren't saved across sessions is because your crew may not be the same from one to the next.

Also, see-through ships means that opposing ships will know exactly where to shoot since you literally won't be able to hide. 😅

  • I agree with @galactic-geek here. I'd love to swith ship types and stuff but I'd never want to see a ship saving system in game, imagine a crew running into trouble and truning to this outpost, parking there storing the ship and boom, safe zone!

    Nope nope nope from me.

  • Yup, ship saving system is a no for me too I fear, sorry !
I'd love a way of changing ship types while in the same session though. Too many times I'm able to play with one friend at a specific hour and one becomes available 30-45 minutes later... Meaning he has to wait for us to finish what we started or we just cancel everything and we reset.
That can be really annoying sometimes.

I don't know if that's something that is valid with Rare's vision of the game though.
