Yes, this 100%. Bravo 👏 I’ts actually comical to me the amount of people & posts who campaign to change the fundamentals of the game to suit their soft belly play style. Some people are advocating for non perishable quest items only, while I want quest items that are even more perishable & time restricted. I want legendary gear that only the most elite pirate legends will ever obtain. While most want the game dulled down to a child like difficulty level with zero threats to them. These are the same players who blame any failure or misadventure on “griefers” & never take any responsibility for there own failure, negligence, unpreparedness or naivety & want everything given to them.

I still think this is more of a sailor game. Pirates did not want to fight. They did strike fear in their enemy in order to reduce the amount of fighting they had to do. Less chance of injury.
I think you listed what you think pirates are.
I enjoy the game as it is, but a pirate most of us are not. (I know a few who never did a voyage to reach pirate legend)
Sailors work for pay. Sailors have lore for the seas. How are we not sailors such as Sinbad?

There's nothing wrong with pvping to pirate legend. There's also nothing wrong with grinding pve and running from any potential danger. Those are extremes, but all playstyles are allowed in adventure.

"Be more pirate" is Rare's quote. While you have the option to play as a sailor, it remains a pirate game, from surface to foundation.
Maybe we'll meet on the seas and we can 'discuss' further ;)
