End of the map

  • I think the end of the map is cool and everything but I think it would be cooler if you removed the blood sea and added so there was just a drop that went straight down into mist. So if players went down then they will lose all the treasure they have collected.

  • @djingtjang Ahoy matey!

This is one thing they actually did prototype as a thing to be in game but it did get switched out to be the red sea in the end.

I would love to see this being used somewhere in the game though... maybe to go to the under world?

  • If you choose to sail a pursuer into the shroud, and they have it together enough to recover your loot and make it out alive, then more power to them.

Sounds to me like you just want a guarantee that no one will get anything when you sink. Well there is a guarantee - don't sink with loot on board.

  • @djingtjang nice try flatearther ;)

  • @djingtjang The shroud fits into the lore, the flat earth does not.

  • Also, from a development standpoint, it would be difficult to add new areas if the edge of the map ended with a cliff. The lifting shroud allows them to be able to add new areas while maintaining the lore, as @Zormis said.

I do like @Musicmee 's suggestions as a drop off to the Underworld though.

  • Weeeeeeeeee!

  • I'd like to see the "edge" or Red Sea lead ships to the opposite side of the map. For instance, you enter the Red Sea Edge at North East corner, suffer a little damage, then emerge back on the map in the South West corner. wherever you enter, you emerge at the opposite side or corner. If you enter center north, you emerge center south, etc.

Plus, have a limit to the number of times you can enter the Red Sea as each time incurrs more damage - say 3 times, then you're sunk. Loot and all lost.
