Hey! So I have an idea for the brig to make it more useful. Instead of only putting your own crew in it, why can't we put other crews in it? It could be where if someone is on your ship that is a part of another crew then you can put them in your brig if you outnumber them. Then the crew of that person would get a notification that their friend has been captured. Then they can either sink the ship to save them, go onto the ship and break them free, or just pay a sort of bail using treasure! This feature would make ship boarding more risky and would add a lot of fun into the seas!
The Brig on Ships
Thank you for the suggestion! Off the bat it can seem like a ok concept! But when you think more about it sadly it can seem the opposite. There are many reasons on why this isn't the greatest idea when thought about, which I don't want to go over as other people probably will anyway haha. This is only my personal opinion and sorry that it is negative but many others, like RARE, might disagree with it. Keep up the suggestions though! Have fun and happy sailing! :D
It could be set to only work when there are more than 1 person in the crew, and if a crew is down to one free player, they can no longer be captured, which would avoid the solo- abuse potential.
Also, the capturing crew could be required to have to have at least one of its members to stay on the ship as a guard, or the prisoner will get an opportunity to break out via bashing the brig door, which could have a set amount of hit points. So, there would be a cost associated with taking a prisoner.
Another possible feature could be that the captured player could be given an opportunity to join his/her captor's crew (a sort of press-ganging, or mutinous choice), provided they have an open slot on their ship.
I'm against the slave idea, though.
