As many of you may be (you should be) aware, there exists a list of commendations in the game that, when certain numbers are achieved, grants additional reputation for one of the three Trading Companies. This can help a lot of new players get to 50 and Pirate Legend faster and also adds additional goals/bragging rights to the game.
This is all well and good for players below 50, but what about those at 50 or are Pirate Legend? We don't benefit from this system, and with goals of up to 1000 of a certain chest/skull type to attain the Grade V commendations, you'll most likely reach Pirate Legend before this lofty goal.
My suggestion is this; a lot of games with leveling systems (let's use WoW or Rift as those are games I'm familiar with) replace the experience reward for completing quests with a gold reward once you have hit max level and don't require the experience points.
Pirate Legend cosmetics are incredibly expensive and it takes a LONG time to grind out that cash - don't get me wrong, grinding is good.
If the rep/exp reward for completing commendations was replaced with a sufficient gold reward I think we would see a lot more Pirate Legends completing commendations instead of getting to Level 10 with Athena's Fortune and then stop playing - I've seen this happen!
Anyway, I now open the floor to the general public for further discussion.
P.S A little gold boost for someone with level 50 GH but still leveling OoS would also alleviate some of those gold-hoarding pains.
