How to improve the merchant Alliance current voyages.

  • Make the animals appear random on the islands, today’s everyone knows where to find chickens, pigs, and snakes.(by memory or online maps) If they appear random , the exploration and trip experience will improve.

Don’t be racist ( kidding) make random the amount of gold you earned, not by the animal color. This days everyone wants gold chickens and gold snakes.
And the white? The red? The blue? The pink pig? That will end to respawn on the island to find the animal with the correct color and force the exploration.

More animals = more money. So now the money earn depends on the amount of animals and the difficult on transport, so if you earn a voyage with a lot of animals you will have more money.

    Small example.
Level 1-20 : more chickens less pig in total less animals to transport.
Level 40-50 : more pigs less chickens in total more animals to transport .

If your shopping list have pigs the amount of gold will increased , because the food difficulties that pigs has. Snakes will be the middle, and chickens the cheapest because are the easiest to transport.

Exploration is the key of the game, if you don’t be force to explored you will be bored like todays, if you explore, the chances of find a threat will rise.

  • @aithemed I don't know what levels you are on in merchant but the higher you go the less chances of seeing white and red animals increases. As for gold value of the differing animals its already been implemented from day one. Pigs are the most expansive, followed closely by the snakes then the chickens. As for everything else i strongly disagree. Alot of the times I'm jumping to different islands as the animal colour I'm looking for isn't on the nearest spwan location.

  • @firestorm4345 playing from release date, I never have catch a white chicken, pink pig, or red snake. Now I am level 42. The gold pigs 1300 vs gold chicken 1200 the difference is to short.

I propose to that the gold reward based on the amount of animals, not the color.

    Current: 1 gold chicken 1200 3 black (900) 2700 and 1 red (350) = 5 animals total $4250 aprox.
*to have a voyage like this you need to have luck or cancel a lot of previous voyages, wasting time on the outposts rather than the trip itself.

My proposition= 5 pigs 3 snakes 2 chickens =10 animals of Radom color on the list $5000 aprox

*so the animals will spawn Radom on the islands and not on fixed locations, and the gold is not attach by the color only by the amount of animals . So the transportation to the outpost is now the challenge. Also if 60% of that voyage has pigs 30% snakes and 10% chickens the amount of gold also increases.

  • Merchant should be side voyages. There is nothing more boring than doing even one of these voyages

  • @aithemed People in this forums feels like they dont even want improvements... Sometimes..

  • I can see the merit to the "quantity over quality" argument, but I don't agree with it.

I also enjoy having reliable sources of fauna. Eventually you learn the islands, so you don't even need to consult those third-party maps. Much like the game map itself. The more you play, the less you need to actually use the map table because you actually learn the sea itself. I love that about the game, and randomizing animal spawns would remove part of that.

Besides, what if an island resets on you while you're there? The types of animals just magically change right in front of you?

Cause maybe some actually enjoy the sailing and searching...just a thought.

  • I agree that the merchant quests need improvement, but the color issue isn't one of them.

They need to give more variety.. they need to mix in resource quests in with the animals.

The other thing is that they do need to really make it so you can propose more the one voyage at a time. You have a full wheel of available slots.. there is no reason that I can think of as to why you can't run multiple voyages at once. At the very least one from each. Having a merchant quest up and running while doing a gold hoarders or OoS mission shouldn't be that hard to do.

The last improvement is more what I want to see in all of the voyages.. and that is to be able to purchase and tell the difference between each of the kinds of quests by the name.

  • I hope they add parrots and crabs. There are shellfish traps and bird cages already in game.

Parrots would be hard to catch and annoying because they taunt you with insults about how you're cheating (if you're playing on PC) or asking why you turn so slow (if you're on XBox)

  • @dragonsire2016 people in this forum do. Thats why they bother to post here. But the people dont even represent a good fraction of the total players

And like any other form of demographic you can use it to predict how the community at large feel. Otherwise there would be no point looking at feedback.

  • So your solution is to make merchant voyages more random and involve more work for almost no actual gain? Yeah I gotta knock this idea. Unless there's a large increase in payout this can hardly be considered an improvement except for those who enjoy aimless wondering.

  • @aithemed It doesn't even need to be animals all the blinking time!
Why do crates of resources, tea, sugar, spices and silks need to be simple rewards and random drops?

There is no reason why a crate of spices can't be a more regular part of the game, making them more profitable from the hand in location than the general market.

Rare could also up the instances of cannonball, banana and plank crates that are shipped in the world - the only issue here being players can actively store extra 'nanas, planks and cannonballs on deck for battle, but this could also be mitigated quite easily.

I was thinking about something similar the other day, except I would just like to see Merchant Alliance voyages provide multiple quests like they can for Gold Hoarders or Order of Souls voyages. That way, you can work on multiple orders as your crew island hops.

Hmm... maybe that should be a suggestion thread in and of itself - something to offer a little more parity between MA and the other trading companies.

  • @prodigy-burns I propose that the merchant voyage always be by chapters like OoS and GH , to stop the cycling of canceling voyages, Maybe the last chapter is a big reward but you need to do the first one, and always the first chapter a small reward doesn’t matter if you are pirate legend or new. So the second chapter, third, or 4 chapters will activate when you delivered the previous one to the outpost. Also this system will reduce the accumulation of cages. Because the first chapter only will give you 3-5 random animals max.

Second proposition to reduce the spawn system is to randomize the fauna. Everyone knows where to find the animals, by memory or by online maps, if the animals respawn at Radom islands , you will explore more .

Third proposition is stop the reward by color. To reduce also the cycling system. Know the reward is going to be by the amount of animals, and the type of animals.

Chickens. Are the easiest to transport so be the lest rewarded (like real life) $200-400
snakes . Have a little difficult to transport and catch, this will be the medium reward $500-800
Pigs, the most difficult because the consuming of bananas, $900-1500

*the color still be a requirement on the shooping list but is not going to affect the amount of reward, depends on the voyage, sometimes the red, pink and blue animal will be the expensive, sometimes the middle and sometimes the lowest reward likes today’s.

    Example. Level 1-20

    Chapter 1 = 3 chickens ( red= $350 white= $300, and gold= 250) in this the voyage the red will be the most expensive. $ 900 for 3 animals

    Chapter 2 = 4 chickens ( white= $400 white=$300, gold= $300 black= $250 ) 1 snake (gold= 400) $1650 for 5 animals

    Chapter 3= 3 chickens (gold=$350 gold=$300 white =$250), 3 snakes (blue=$600 red= $ 500 , gold =$450), 1 pig (gold =$900) $3350 for 7 animals

    Example . Level 40-50

    Chapter 1 = 2 chickens 2snakes
    Chapter 2= 1 chicken 3 snakes 2 pigs
    Chapter 3= 1 chicken 2 snakes 4 pigs

    Resuming:
    More animals = more money
More difficult animals = more money
    Voyages by chapters
First chapter = few animals = less money
Last chapter = more animals = more money
Color still a requirement =/ but gold is not the max reward, is random
Random animal island spawn= more exploration
