Wanted to give controller a shot but it's impossible to make x360ce work...

  • Was laying in my bed not feeling very well so I thought I could try to play SoT with a controller for a change. And here I am 40 minutes later absolutely tired and angry because it just doesn't work.

So yea my controller is a pretty old Logitech Rumble or how is it called so I didn't expect it to work. I did expect, however, x360ce to work. So first problem. To even find where the game is installed. Only took me 5 minutes of Googling. Guess what the folder is locked. So I had to learn how to give myself permissions. Only took me 15 minutes and two articles. Permission granted I can finally ACCESS a folder on my own computer. The game is hidden in an Athena folder, how intuitive. Spent only 5 minutes trying to find it. Finally the game file. But it's impossible to copy the x360ce file there or hell even connect the app to the x360ce inside x360ce. No permissions. Spent 20 minutes rereading all the articles about permission tried my best but no. Nada. It's impossible to get it working.

So here I am. I'm in no mood whatsoever to even play the game now as I just spent my evening trying to make work something that worked everytime in my life before because the bloody app is locked for some mystical reason.

Did anyone manage to make x360ce work?

  • @tutorialchimp no Xbox controller around? Windows 10 supports the new one wirelessly via Bluetooth or you can plug-in an older one. There is a wireless dongle for the both as well.

Know that this wasn't you question but I figured I should at least throw it out there..

  • @king-brouille Sadly no :( Guess I gotta buy one.

  • @tutorialchimp As @PersonalC0ffee said, try Xpadder you might have better luck. If i remember right x360ce only work if you put it into the same files as the .exe of the game (wich is hiden into windows app files)

  • @arkhais @PersonalC0ffee Wow guys! Thanks a lot, I had honestly no idea there's anything else than the x360ce. Gonna try it right now :)
