Nerf gun skeletons!

  • Cursed crews on 45+ voyages and beyond are way too hard to fight, at least the pistol and blunderbuss skeletons are. many hit points, big damage and worst of all 99,% accuracy result in just dying countless times, wave after wave. Rare, please nerf the skellies or fix the AI somehow, cause this is one of the most frustrating game experiences I've had in a very long time.

  • It's fine the way it is. If you want easier voyages, crew up with players who can give you lower level ones.

  • I've expected a simple-minded answer like this. Let me clarify my position.

I used to play in a steady crew and I think we are all decent players on high ranks / legendary, but even with a full crew it it ridiculously tough sometimes. When you have a crew of skellies spawning on mountain top of the island where you can't use ship's cannons and you have a bunch of golden or plant skellies with pistols, there's a fair chance that they shoot you down before the first skeleton takes hits from your weapons.
Pulling the waves all the way down to the beach? Takes ages sometimes. All going in at the same time? The only reasonable option in most cases, but often that's not effective as well. I'm just talking about making these waves somehow managable in a way you don't need to die and respawn over and over again. If not by nerfing their stats - well, then fix the AI somehow, so that they act in a way to give players a fair chance to deal with them. To make this clear: the melee skellies are alright, they have pretty health and are quite ruthless, I'm totally okay with that. Only gun skeletons annoy me every time.

I totally agree that the difficulty level in endgame content should be challanging to be entertaining at all, but OOS and Athena Bounties don't feel challanging. They just feel like you have no other option than dying again and again again. Dark Souls is just kindergarden compared to that!

  • Skeletons sometimes have a tendency to spawn all with guns. This creates situations where you can die in 1 second from a quick, coordinated barrage, and with their accuracy, they are absolutely lethal. With crew, split up to reduce this coordination; when solo, use an outlying skeleton as cover as you kill him and move inward from 1 to the next.

  • Skeleton accuracy is dumb, its near impossible to evade those dead eye pistol shots from lone skeletons, en masse, it gets even dumber, groups of re-animated skeletons with laser beam accuracy, yeah, great.

Anyone that says its fine has gotta be jokin'.

  • Don't worry - they increased the spawn rates of normal skeletons to compliment the voyage spawns on OOS voyages so you didn't feel so lonesome when the executioners firing squad bursts from the ground to kill you!

  • @gerzarius use your cutlass to attack. They won't shoot when you are swinging your sword on their bones

  • Agree, doesn't have to be much nerfed, but a little bit
And please make the accuracy of the cannon-skeleton back to where it was at the beginning...it's boring like this

  • @rk1-turbulence said in Nerf gun skeletons!:

That is one way but sniper rifle(pistols) 99 hit rate is a joke I do not believe they need to be dumb down just not a insane hit rate.

  • Upvote this Topic now !!!! RARE should be sued for copyrights, because Skeletons at 45+ are just Terminators plain and simple. Also I wanna add something if according to rare Gold rusts in this game and using water on Gold Skeletons makes them rust by that logic gold covered chests and goblets est. should also rust if your ship sinks or you drop it in the water making them less valuable.
