  • Love the weekly maintenance! Keep it up Rare!

Although, i find it strange that it is first announced on twitter before the status page on the website is updated ;)

  • @ktingaling Most people will get their info from Twitter anyways. So in some way that's a good thing, I guess :)

  • MORE GROG! MORE CHICKENS! BIGGER HATS!... less bugs

  • Yep. Loving that they are regularly updating rather than waiting a long time and dumping larger updates.

Downtime always sucks but at least they are picking times when it will impact the least amount of people.

Looking forward to seeing what fixes are implemented this time

  • Hoping they finally add keyboard text speak on Xbox alongside the bug fixes. ❤️ @Rare-Employee @TEDDY-25

  • @ktingaling How can you love a 5 hour maintenance every week? xD Sure it's good that they're trying to fix the problems, but there's still insane amounts of latency problems and pretty frequently aswell, right now for example, it's almost unplayable because of it.

  • @skritsarn surely if there are huge problems then the regular patches and maintenence are a good thing, no?

They've also changed the day to Tuesday, which must have some significance. They'd hardly change the window for the lulz.

Lets just wait and see what the patchnotes say.

I'm not sure there is a fixed day for maintenance though? It has been on a Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday in the past. I have a feeling it's just whenever they can release a patch that they schedule it at the earliest convenience. It's possible staff schedules might be taken into account too?

    Not sure though

  • @skritsarn unplayable? I played the entire weekend with no latency problems. Maybe it's a regional thing?

  • @skritsarn Yeah, I agree the 5 hour window is quite long.. But I dont know anything about server / game maintenance.. So hard to judge that one ;)

But, maybe little selfish, i don't bother since i work from 8-16:30, so i can't play anyway..
I understand that for the GMT +4 and more the time is anoying tho..

But the fact there is been a patch every week, is really great! :)

  • @ktingaling Patches every week is fantastic, can't argue with that :)

  • I am excited, as per my perspective of player for a little over a week I will now have seen 2 updates in less than 14 days. Yes minimal changes were added the last time but 4 times a month of minimal changes screams "improvement" and "life", which are things the 100's of negative posts will lead you into believing don't exist in this game. Maybe they will make it where shooting yourself out of a cannon blows you to bits haha!

For those on EST, that is 4AM-9AM downtime.

  • @realstyli Well May 1st is on a Tuesday, so they could be starting this as a routine for the weekly events and content updates.

Perhaps the regular maintenance is being used to try and alleviate all of this. At least they are leaving it in a less buggy state each time they patch,

Perhaps. I have mixed but not strong feelings about having a set day for maintenance.

On one hand, players know when to expect it and it's never a huge surprise for them. They can plan around it.

On the other, it kind of sucks if you always have a certain day of the week off work and it happens to be the day and time that maintenance is on.

At least with irregular maintenance days it's a bit fairer on everyone.
