@cpt-peach-beard first you called me childish, now you are calling me 100 years old? It seems like you are confused. I am not bashing on cartoons, you started the "14 year old game" thing. Gow is objectively for mature audience where as even toddlers could play sea of thieves, cahisng chickens having a fun and light experience.
You want a game that is actually worth full price? Check God of War 4 out.

I never called you anything. You are the one who is confused.
And about your fun and light experience comment, that's great, that's exactly why I like Sea of Thieves. If I ever want to take a break from PvP at skull forts I can go play with Charlotte the Gold Stripe Pig.
btw even a toddler can play Tetris, a game you seem to appreciate.
@nwo-azcrack at least there is something to smash buttons at, not the same clunky enemy type. and gow 4 is much more challenging than sot. Judging without even trying :/
@metalman981
This game is clunky. Ima give u that. And i dont call fighting enemies with an exagerated health pool a challenge. I have a friend playing on the hardest setting sitting right next to me. Its lazy game designI would have beaten uncharted 10,000 B.C. 3/4x over with the amount of time I've spent on sea of thieves and I highly doubt I would have had the same ROFL to the point of tears from the moments I've gotten. In fact I doubt I would have breached mildly amused enough to warrant the $60 price tag. I'll wait for a price drop on GoW4.
@savagetwinky I have more fun playing football with my friends than any video game and it is free. The amount of fun you have has nothşng to do with the price tag. And people having fun with the game are startşng to be the minority. It is a fact. Check twitch number, check reviews. It is a fact.

I'll be done with God of War in 3 days but will still be playing SOT a month from now. Value is subjective.
Exactly.
Just as when I was watching the whole "This game is boring and this video gets why "exactly" thread...
In Games like GoW all you do is beat up enemies, grind, through puzzles for a few hours, finish a story and quit. Never to play the$60 title again.
I literally have hundred of games I will NEVER play again. I LOVED "The Last of Us". But after the story, I played multiplayer for perhaps a week and quit.
Sea of Thieves is hardly the perfect game. And I have "bad" experiences with the pvp, and griefing every day it seems, for at least a while.
But then there's the days when I realize I've spent whole days with friends online, on forums, watching twitter, and opening sessions with the wife or rotating through various friends who might not be on for long.
I'll never disagree SoT needs more work, I'll never disagree that the first months content (maybe even 2 months) content planned ahead should probably already be in the game.
I'll never disagree that the pvp core mentality gets tiresome, and griefing is a real issue, or that some sort of safehavens need to be incorporated.
I think to games such as WoW pvp servers - "home" areas are at least safe there. Players do need some kind of break now and again. And though much of the heart of "being a pirate" seems to rely on griefing, Rare does seem to be blind to the notion that there should be "some sort" of casual rest area in the game.
I admit there are flaws in design that I would have approached differently.
Yet, despite this all, the game does have enough "for me" for now. If this were it's "final form" (pun intended) I'd complain, but I personally look at it as a "too early a release" for a game service I plan on being part of for a long, long time.

Value has everything to do with a price tag. Also whether or not an experience can be provided at that price point. Value is subjective. Reviews are subjective. I'd buy SoT again in a heartbeat for $60. I will not buy SP games that have a one and done content to chew through for $60. I never play the new battlefield SP campaigns, but I value the MP so much I'll buy them for $120 to get all the map packs later.

@savagetwinky hell, even the dev team acknowledge that the game lacks content
Sure they probably didn't expect players to play the way they are playing. They wanted a short session game where you find some chests, fight some players, get some gold. In that context SoT has plenty of content to provide a full experience.
But people are burning themselves out and are upset they don't have more ways to farm to pirate legend.

It is crazy how God of War is actually cheaper than Sea of Thieves. (70 CHF vs 60 USD), at least for me.
I am not trying to bash sot or anything, but there are a lot of people who are trying to justify the price tag of sot. So God of War is a good benchmark for a full price.
It's crazy how god of war is the same game every year
I've played God of War, great game, 10/10. But it was a 25 hour experience for me, played it and I'm done. Whereas Sea of Thieves, I've played in excess of 100+ hours (lost count) and still going strong.
Different experiences. One I enjoyed when my internet was out, no friends were online and I enjoyed that solo experience. The other is played when my friends are on and we have a blast till early hours of the morning and wonder how we wake up for work the next day.
Two different experiences in my opinion. Both are awesome. But in terms of value, Sea of thieves has that in spades!God of war was boring af after the gimmick died in GoW1... Since that it's just been the same game but reskinned and horribly inaccurate mythology, and I'm not saying that because Kratos isn't really in there, I mean as a whole it's broken... GoW 1 was great coz it was different, GoW2 was meh and I never even made it out of the first portion when Zeus stabs you with the sword of a thousand truths or whatever, and I watched my bro play Gow3 and I couldn't even tell the difference between that and number 2... I don't wanna buy GoW4 because I don't want to see them murder Norse Mythology aswel
