Dead servers

  • Many players experience dead servers well the number one reason why is because players server hop for Skelton forts and rare will never be able to prevent people from server hopping so they should honestly just put a 15mim to 30min timer inbetween each Skelton fort spawn which will keep people in the servers they start on and I will admit I have server hopped multiple times just to find Skelton forts

  • I agree the respawn for forts is way to long causing server hoping. If rare changed the times it would keep more people on a server but then the reward I would imagine would have to change to be lower as you have to balance the two.

  • @canadianmuscle3 no point in change the amount of loot cause people server hop now and do forts back to back gaining xp fast and if they decrease the loot it won’t be worth doing

  • What is dead may never die.

  • I think they could easily prevent people from server hopping. Just code the matchmaker to remember which server they were on last if they start leaving and re entering the game to frequently and stick them back in the last one they were in.

If done right it'll allow people being griefed to still load into a different server, but if they start server hopping say 2 times in 15 min or so then it'll just sticky them to a server.

  • @mrbrocksego that doesn’t help cause now the players have already server hopped 3 times in ur plan the start up server to 2nd server than 2nd server to 3rd server and now that’s 2-3 servers without a ship/players and they will just wait 15 and then server hop 2 more times

  • They should just change up the matchmaking. If you leave a server and rejoin another, it should bypass active skull fort servers and throw you into a non active skull fort server. Done.

  • @xgodkevin wouldn’t that punish players who leave servers normally because they keep getting spanked not to mention the forts r really the best thing in the game for fun cause u got PvP and pve all in one area so a timer will keep the one good thing going and it would also help with pve players cause now they know PvP will head to forts for some PvP which allows them to go around servers doing their quests I think the timer is the best choice

  • @ods7-117 it would more than likely punish server hoping for forts. Collateral damagae is always a factor no matter what lol

  • Just make the skull fort spawn at the same time across all servers.
I think that the in-game time is already the same on all servers at all times.

  • @ods7-117 What about people that are doing merchant missions? Or Athena's rep? Or looking for pvp? Or playing casually with friends?

Surely fort hoppers aren't the only type of player playing this game, I don't see the issue here, and see even less of a reason to have forts have such a small cooldown.

  • Empty servers? Isnt that what the PvE part of the community always wanted?

  • I'm sure Rare do or could have the technology to monitor server hoppers and those that are repeat offenders should be temporarily banned. That's the only effect way that this issue can be addressed.

  • @alphacenturion2 If you want to prevent server hopping just let the forts spawn at the same time across all servers.
No need for monitoring or punishments.
