Remove the Brig.

  • It's not a very good idea. it doesn't stop bad players cause griefers usually group up into one team to grief the sea together using toxic strategies like spawn killing and such, it's far more aggravation than helpful.

For instance, cant turn off that strupid lantern anymore AND theres like a 15-20% chance when i join a game, I am immediately voted into the Brig cause... idk, reasons.

Probably want a 3 man galleon or just think its fukin funny. The brig is a garbage idea, needs to go. Serves no purpose.

Also, smoke-able pipes need to be a thing.

If you pay any attention to the updates from Rare, theyre implementing a new crew system to avoid the brigging situation.

Players will be able to make crews private so randoms dont join while they're waiting for a friend, so people just joining won't get brigged and asked to quit.

This means anyone you matchmake with is also looking to matchmake with randoms and the brig will be more useful for putting away people who deserve it.

  • I had an idea for using the brig. Allow the door to be interactable from the outside. You can send people to the brig and then let them out manually. This would also allow crews to use the brig for storage if they so desired. It wouldn't be secure but some folk might enjoy keeping their loot "locked up".

Brig has its uses. Example, a random walks into my ship and started dumping my loot fo ZERO reasons, brig prevented him from dumping all the loot. Another example, random comes into my ship and starts steering for the rocks to beach the ship. Brig prevented that. What they should do is once a player is in the brig for X amount of time, 5 mins or so, that player in the brig gets booted from the game. Prevents them from hanging out in the brig and gaining gold they havent worked for.

Aye if ye Mic up, ye be rotting in the brig a lot less.

Are ye terrified of talkin to yer crew?

    Perhaps stop playing multiplayer games

  • @jimmy-voorhees Are you [Mod edited]? I don't have a mic. I type, and it still doesn't work. So because I cant afford to get a mic, I shouldn't be able to play multiplayer games?

    That sounds [Mod edited].

The solutions pretty simple. There's a discord for crews and a looking for group option in the xbox app. Use those to find you a crew that wants you. I'm one of those peeps that will instantly brig you and ask you to leave. Only because I normally have a fun group of buddies I play with or because i've tried getting them in a party so we can communicate effectively and they don't.

  • @jade-x-irelia Look up Sades headset on amazon. They sell headsets with mics. SADES SA708 is $15, a quarter the cost of the game. Hope this helps with your situation!

  • it would be cool if you can put enemy pirates int he brig just for fun to capture them

  • @Jade-x-Irelia Please refrain from name calling on our forums, as it is a violation of our Forum rules. You are free to disagree with others, but please do so respectfully.

  • No dont remove the brig im not leaving my ship because rando pirate xx42bs- fake name btw i hope- joined my ship and is unexperienced, no mic, untrustworthy, or a standard issue bored troll. Or one of my actual friends got dc,d

  • I don’t think the brig should be removed, it has a specific purpose and serves that purpose well. I’ve only ever had to lock someone up once when they were intentionally team killing, but it saved us to have that option.

I’ve been insta-brigged twice when joining random galleons. Both times were because they said they had a friend joining soon. So I left, as I understand what that’s like.
My crew is never going to instant brig someone, even if we have a friend joining. I think you’re going to find better success simply informing a player when they join that you’re trying to get your 4th crew member in and politely ask them to back out. It’s worked for us numerous times.

  • @jade-x-irelia I'm just telling you the truth
