Soloing Order of Souls after level 25

  • The title says it all. Soloing Order of Souls after 25, I find to be near impossible. It would make more sense if the skellies were more willing to be drawn towards my ship, but on the bigger islands they aren't. They stay inland, especially when I keep respawning. I get that this is a group game, but if at some point playing in a group is required to get stuff done... well, I don't know how I feel about that. Trust me, I have a group that I play with consistently, but I want to be able to play the game when they're not around. I want to solo it as well. Rant over.

I also made a topic about this couple of hours ago and suggested some improvements. But yeah you are as right as I am. It's pain in the a to deal with them. I'm at 32 currently.

  • Still soloing them at lvl 30+. The only skels' I struggle to kill are the pistol ones. (OP AIM BOT! Q_Q)

  • @keledran Yeah man... that's exactly it. The blunderbuss skellies are too much when there's 5 or 6 of them at a time, with OP bot from every angle. There's no defense against it. No strat.

  • @beattywhite For groups of blunder skeles I like to hold block and do a sword lunge and jump immediately as it goes off. You will hit the skeles and fly past them out of blunder range.

It's the flintlock skeles that give me a hard time.

The best way to do it is to not update your commendations after level 20. You still have the same chance for different skulls but it's easier. Takes a bit longer because you don't get a lot of 3 bosses per island maps, but then again the fighting is much faster.

  • I find it's best to solo Strongholds for Order of Souls rather than doing the voyages as a solo.
You'll be able to complete the Stronghold far faster than most of the Order of Souls missions, not to mention, if you run up and gunpowder a ship that just completed one, you could possibly only spend 10 minutes as a solo on getting a Stronghold Skull.
Furthermore if no Strongholds are available, just find random people to kill, they will possibly have a Hateful or Villainous.
Usually it's far faster to sink someone than do a 40+ Order of Souls mission, especially as a solo.

Voyages for the most part are a complete utter waste of time for everyone, including the people trying to kill you and take your treasure.

  • @ultimate-powa Yeah, post-40 the health of the skellies is obscene. You're looking at 8 hits from a cutlass to kill each basic skeleton. And when an entire group of 10 metals spawn with pistols, and each one takes every pistol/sniper shot in your pocket while wet, that's when you realize it's best to just do them in a galleon.

I solo a lot. So I have followed this advice and just not updated past 20. It doesn't hurt me too much as I usually only play for an hour to an hour and a half at a time. So smaller voyages are better.

  • @ultimate-powa

Ultimate what do you mean by Strongholds? Is that the same as a Skull Fort?

  • Sometimes I have wondered if it's even worth leveling them up at all until you're 50.

perpetuating the troll cycle and server hopping lol. You get in what you put out and didn't earn that fort I hate the lurkers in the game. Granted if you let yourself get killed by a measly solo you kinda deserve it.

  • I struggled with the blunderbust skells so I take 2 gp kegs on land with me especially for them. I find charging the pistol skells while jumping and chopping like a madman possessed normal works lol

  • Why solo them? I had success getting OoS to level 50 by just joining/forming 4 man galleons on Discord and the Xbox LFG
