  • That is account bound. So no...but my guess is that you lose all progress made.

  • @balbasuar you cannot reset your pirate, better pick one you like at launch

  • @omega-131313 yes you can, at the main menu there is a settings option, go down to pirate settings and there is an option to delete pirate.

  • @omega-131313 you can reset your pirate, you can reset it when your in the main menu picking. Just press Y on a controller or some button to open up the settings and there will be pirate options and that is where you reset.

  • @balbasuar When we delete the pirate do we lose all gold and progression? I guess its best to know now then in the future

  • @dolphin-x-cave Yes. You lose all reputation, titles, gold and items unlocked in shops at outposts. You keep your DLC items and that founder reward.

  • What is the reason you can only have one pirate? I really hope they don't the same thing as Metal Gear Survive, that you have to pay $10 for a second character.

  • @omega-131313 actually, you can.
And yes, you lose all your reputation, gold and purchases.

  • @thejolirouge havent seen that yet, thanks for informing me. and dang it

  • @john-von-wells I personally don’t see the point in multiple pirates other that the fact that once you hit end game there’s not a whole lot (which will change soon hopefully) multiple pirates just seems like too much for this type of game and the atmosphere they want.

  • @lancer-of-red97 I'd like a second pirate, I think I'd make it a completely different style of character - appearance, playstyle, everything. For me it adds another strand of stories that I can create.

  • hold on...I just made legend...and you think I'm gonna start over?

For what? Visiting the same islands and repeating the same 3 contents for another 2,5 - 3 months? If its your thing...go on...enjoy...but please dont sell me the possibility to start over from zero as "something new to do".

There is nothing I havent done in SoT for at least a dozen times now. I dont see my own alter ego unless I hit Y (Z on the english keyboard) to dance or do some other emote.

    So...why?

  • I wish we could at least change the appearance of our pirate...

  • The reset button is a trap.

I don't understand why we can't change the look of our pirate, but I think I read that Rare wanted our pirates to feel like characters from the world and the IPG + no-take-backsies is part of that.

Why then can we not roll a second character?

I guess it's not the biggest issue with the game for me right now, but it is still an annoying thing about the game that contributes to a feeling of having less ownership of your character than I think Rare were going for.

Katt, what you should allow is the ability to have multiple character models. It's all about cosmetics when it comes to progression in this game. There are no skill trees, or finite number of skill points that would make having separate characters slots appealing.

Changing up the way our characters look is what the reward system is all about. Players should be able to change their character bodies at any time. There is no negative to allowing this. It would only serve to enhance the reward system you have in this game.

Yeah, I think I'd prefer this to a second character slot as well

  • I would very much like at least 1-2 or a few more slots for additional pirates so I can have different characters and looks (male/female, types, etc.). Rewards need not be shared (though that might be nice) but I would like to see Gold Earned shared across the chars for your account. Gamertag can stay the same no matter which toon you select.

  • @katttruewalker And that’s why there’s an option to delete your pirate and start from scratch, thus ending the story of your previous Notorious pirate life, to begin one anew and set out on the seas a fresh new pirate in any way, shape, or form, and I mean it quite literally when I say shape, look at all the cannonball pirates 😂 but what I mean is, yeah it would be nice to have to pirate slots, but for a game like this, of this caliber, would that really fit?

  • @merlin-mav-k Even Though you can’t do much with gold without reputation, I think gold sharing wouldn’t really be in the best interest in terms of playability, start a new character and you can buy whatever clothes or ship customizations when you want and as soon as they’re unlocked.

  • I have a female pirate, I would really like a second slot to have a male, to use beards...no I won't use a beard in my girl, don't be ridiculous!

  • One pirate per gamertag. As Microsoft allows Xbox live to have a family account, you can add a gamertag and a new pirate.
Switch profiles when you want one of your specific pirates. You do not share loot or purchases across accounts.
