I've certainly tried to have a discussion with the OP earlier today. They really don't like to answer questions about the flaws in their idea.

The long and short of it is in order to build this social server (ahem safe zone) it would divert resources and employees away from the main game. There is already a social area. It's called the main game. If you want mini games and junk put them in the taverns at outposts. There is no need for a server dedicated to social interactions. Rare said no safe zones and you are proposing just that no matter what you label it. I thought this post got closed.

Suggestion feels like safe zone to me too, but it doesn't exactly behave like one which makes it a viable candidate in my opinion. This is due the variables you mentioned like the No Loot Beyond This Point -rule for example. PvP is possible within certain areas in the zone as well, in couple forms even if I understood correctly, and some other things that make it relatively worthwhile place to at least explore. The features present in the zone can be implemented in so many ways too that I find it difficult to keep track. :3

Naw it's because you fail to respond properly to anyone that presents a different opinion.

You always default to saying people didn't read your post right or direct them to the mega thread on safe zones.

Here is a question why direct people to the safe zone mega thread if this social area isn't one and the same? If they are the same this is a redundant thread. Why bother debate this if rare has already given an answer on safe zones.

It was locked once already have another look @deckhands especially since this guy has started insulting people.

I disagree still. These are the same people that don't have a problem with a safe pirate hideaway or the fact that the Ferry of the Damned is safe, yet they have an issue with a social hub with PvP elements, that would be run on a seperate server to not disrupt game balance. The intelligence of these people makes my ribs hurt.

I don't think they actually have an issue with what you described here in essence. I think the reason why our captain here is confused, for example, is because your text might have couple contradictive terms in place or very close each other at least that makes them feel unable to cast their important vote; at least before the question is answered.

Well, either way. I think it is a nice suggestion no matter how it behaves and I recognise your effort here. Thank you.

So once again what differentiates this social area idea from a safe zone other than "its on a different server." That just means you're calling for a safe zone on another server.
