will the pirates code work in game ?
Like the parlay ?
Parley, often stylized as parlay, was a negotiation conference especially one between enemies over terms of a truce or other matters. The root of the word parley is parler, which is the French verb "to speak"; specifically the conjugation parlez "you speak", whether as imperative or indicative. The term written as "parlay" on the Pirata Codex was known as a right in the Code of the Pirate Brethren, set down by Morgan and Bartholomew, that allowed any person to invoke temporary protection and brought before the captain to "negotiate" without being attacked until the parley is complete.
New but old pirates code
@jokerxfacexptx There's no 'system' I know of in place, but you can certainly ask for a parlay via global chat.
@jokerxfacexptx Then yell something like "don't shoot, don't shoot!" Other common things i've seen to signal peace is using the waving/dancing emotes or carrying around a lit lantern.
@jokerxfacexptx Solo can be tough for your initial voyage, but perfectly doable if you're not prone to getting frustrated easily. I'd be happy to 2-man a sloop with you when the beta drops if you ever have the urge.
@jokerxfacexptx Add my gamertag (same as my forum name) on Xbox. If on PC, I am not sure. I know there's cross play, but I'm not sure how it works. Maybe someone else can chime in.
