Is there anyway to use steam overlay?

    I tend to use the steam overlay for all my games just to keep in touch with everyone. Whilst i know the game is not released yet, i have it pre purchased and installed ready. Due to this being a microsoft install is there anyway of locating the files to setup the overlay ready for release?

    I don't believe so, but I am not sure how Steam overlay works.

    TBH I am really shocked to see how many people use Steam's social function. I have always had more luck sending my friends a message using the XBOX app then Steam.

    nah, they are contractually obligated to use xbox and only xbox, apparently selling millions of copies less doesnt bother them

    Have you tried adding the game in Steam as a Non-Steam game?

    Don't forget to go in Compatibility and check off the "run as admin". It makes the Overlay work on non-steam games.

    Thanks for the replies, after a bit of further digging around I have found that windows games don't have .exe files and steam only accepts .exe files so i think i have my answer. Thanks again.
